That's just the normal feeling now.

Well, I'll take it. Russ finally looks like old Russ.

So, looking at the boxscore and everything, it looks like we almost Thundered away another game after a monster 1st quarter.

Also, looks like Russ went MVP-Mode Beastbrook and everyone else sucked except for Abrines. At least we won a game against a team with a winning record in a game where Carmelo and PG scored a combined 12 points on 5/19 shooting.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

now this is magical thinking.

Right, he definitely didn't drag the offense.

this is treading on hot hand theory. what does 'earning shots' mean? i'm ok with russ attacking the rim, maybe a mid range shot if he's feeling it but a pull up three in that situation? that's why our offense remains less evolved than the elite ones in the nba these days. cater too much to this kind of nonsense.

There's no question that athlete's sometimes have the hot hand, or are in the zone, or whatever you want to call it. I don't think you'd find any former athlete who disagrees.

Now would I prefer a different shot than a pull up three? Yes, but I'm not going to fault him as much for taking it when he's been hitting shots.

Also, one of those isos was definitely not Westbrook doing his own thing. That side of the floor cleared before he got the ball across half court.

we're talking about athletes' feelings v. what actually happens-- where i think there's only very slight, marginal evidence of anything like hot hand existing. i don't think elite teams offensively do this kind of thing to the extent that we do it. that's my subjective observation. the league is trending toward more analytics based, optimized offense that we are lagging behind on. russ pulling up for a three like that is a problem in that landscape if we want to be a part of it.

Brah, you were talking about how much Paul George enjoys the game two.pages ago.
