Re: Nets - In Season Moves & Possible Trade Ideas
Harris has been in a bit of shooting slump recently . I don’t think his defense is as good as Crabbe. Crabbe has underperformed so far but imo he is still getting acclimated to team. I think there are good reasons for starting him over Harris
I am a huge fan of Harris but imo we have seen close to his ceiling whereas with Crabbe I don’t think we know yet. To me he is still developing
I will really miss Harris if he is traded though because I think he has as good a sense of being a team player in Atkinson’s system as possibly anyone. I Iove his attitude

My guys on this team are RHJ, Dinwiddie, Fro and CLV. Russell is immensely talented and smooth and effective, although he's not necessarily my favorite type of player I respect his basketball talent. He's a leading talent in the NBA. Okafor may turn into a major player, but is he a defensive player? Lin is my guy too, I'd like to see him reduce his salary and contribute. His ability to change games is very underappreciated in comments I'm reading (and I don't want to get into a Lin argument either, that's my opinion and he's just one player but he's still the best choice for captain of the team, in my opinion). I love Harris as well because he has some grit and toughness. This team needs that gritty, tough player because Din, Russell and to some extent CLV are finesse player. RHJ is a gritty, unorthodox player and real fun to watch. One of the best players on the team, IMO.
DMC is immensely important as a vet on the team. If he is traded or replaced, another vet please. This team is bordering on too young and not enough vets IMO. Especially if Lin is going to be traded next season.
I want to see a stretch 4. Also a guy that has a reliable low-post game, sort of like Booker but more polished.
I don’t think Marks could have said no the Philly deal but I do think the team now is too youth heavy. Same problem 76ers and Minnesota had until this year

The whole team is in a shooting slump. Saw someone on twitter say they've been under 30% as a team for 5 straight games. Which is kind of nuts.

Re: Nets - In Season Moves & Possible Trade Ideas
I would definitely move Harris for the right deal. Maybe we can even squeeze out a late 1st rounder from a contender needing extra shooting. In our situation we need to max out every opportunity we get to gain assets. Harris is a success story from our development team but more than likely he will be out of our price range in free agency. Every team needs 3pt shooting so no doubts he will have suitors.
I still feel that a stretch 4 to take over Acy's role off the bench would help us improve. We have a lot of guards/perimeter players and pure Centers like Moz/Jah/Allen/Zeller but lack another good 4 outside of RHJ since Booker left.

Agree with Claud.
If we can move Harris for a late 1st then we have to do it.

We are currently the 3rd worst 3PT shooting team in the NBA

How about Aaron Gordon for Deangelo Russell? You’ve got Lin coming back, we’ve got Isaac coming up. Similar “level” players imo, just different spots.

I don't think it's equal. D'angelo has more potential and has one more year in his rookie contract. Gordon is due for a big pay this offseason. I'd do it if they add in a first rounder. Then we can use that to move up and get Trae Young.

Lin is only on the books for next season and the dude has been injured the entire time he's been here, why would we trade Russell in that situation? Gordon is a good player and all, but this team currently needs a go to scorer badly.

Gordon would be a very good fit, but not at the expense of DLo. Dinwiddie+Filler+Toronto pick, but DLo's upside > Gordon's upside, plus Gordon will be due a big raise this offseason.

Lin isn't a similar level
And has been hurt the entire time he's been here it's a point guard driven league why would you trade someone who's numbers compare to a bunch of great players

I don't trade Russell for Gordon anyway, but why we would get Gordon when we have Rondae?

Lin is in Vancouver... he's far from reliable... IMO

I don't think there is much value in taking up guys that the Nets are looking to resign in the next two years. As long as Mozgov and Crabbe are on the books there is not enough money to go for it.
I'd look to get guys from the 2016 or 2017 Draft. I think Dragan Bender could be a great fit. Another guy that hasn't really made it and Phoenix doesn't really know where they're going.

I thought about him before when I was looking at Phoenix's roster. From what I understand with him he has a lot of confidence issues. I'd rather stay away from him. I think the only players worth a look in that team is Marquese Chriss, Josh Jackson, and Tyson Chandler (mentor purposes).

As far as I know coming to a foreign country with a lot of pressure on you right of the bat and being called a bust a year into your professional career doesn't help it. I believe he has a lot of talent, he is pretty young and will need a bit of time. But maybe in 3-4 years he could be someone. With Chriss I don't really see his upside. I seems like he doesn't have a feel for the game, it's not natural. Bender would fit the Nets at least better than Chriss. Chandler could be a nice vet addition.
