On Horford: Using all-star talent that we not only acquired but courted in free agency as trade bait is a bad look. Especially with what Al has produced for the C's this season

On Tatum: We're looking at a potential future player here; will it pan out? We'll have to see, but you're nuts mortgaging the future by sending off somebody that has shown so much promise at 19 in order to win now.

AD can turn down his player option and join free agency at the same time Al's original contract is up. Two seasons, simple. That's two seasons of LeBron aging and GSW having to decide if paying massive luxury and repeater taxes makes fiscal sense when the penalties really kick in.

If he's meant to be then be patient.

On point. Great comment.

Horford's not really what the Pels should be most wanting anyway.

If we can trade LAL/SAC pick + MEM pick + our pick + Brown + cap filler for Davis we I'd go crazy. Keeping Tatum and adding Davis to Kyrie/Hayward would be straight up CRAZY!!! Literally a dynasty. Our starting five for the next 5-7 years would be Kyrie/SG/Hayward/Tatum/Davis. Just absurd. Bring on the Warriors, LeBron can pack his bags.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

If that LA pick conveys the offer might be too good to pass up for the Pelicans. I bet they won't get a better offer than Tatum/Ayton or Bagley as headliners.

First question is whether Davis is going to come near the trade market. He seems too modest to demand a trade, and I don’t think he realizes how bad the Pelicans’ front office is - they probably sell him on being a move or two away, which they could be, if they weren’t badly managed.

Second question is who else can bid for him on the trade market.

It is interesting, Davis seems pissed other young guys are getting more hype - he doesn’t realize it’s because they’re not on stalled teams - Embiid, Giannis and Porzingis are in situations where they’re making their teams about as good as Davis makes the Pelicans, around .500 or a little above. They stay that way two or three years in a row, the hype will leave.

If there was any trade for Anthony Davis by the Celtics it would probably be in the off-season and include a Marcus Smart sign and trade.

I still have my doubts

Well, if AD wants to win so much, he will leave NO when he becomes FA (2020). Or he would be traded before that.

This guy is completely full of ****.

The only way Davis is getting traded to Boston this year is if all of the following happen:

1. The Pelicans fall out of the playoffs in the West - Unlikely considering there are only really 9 teams competing for 8 spots.
2. He asks out - Unlikely. He has continually said he won't do that.
3. The Celtics gut the roster - Unlikely. To match salary they either need to trade Horford or Hayward or Kyrie or cobble together enough salary to make it work. The first three aren't happening. The second means trading all of the depth the team has.

To clear something up, the DPE can't be used in any sort of deal where that player is re-routed in a deal along with other players. That time has passed. That makes it almost impossible for Boston to match salary in a trade.

Now....this summer things open up considerably. At that point the Pelicans will know what they have and if Cousins is staying as a FA. And the options for how the Celtics could trade for Davis increase by quite a bit.

Also: trade calls don't last 2 hours. Most trade calls are actually texts now to start. Then call portions last less than 10 minutes. GMs are far too busy to spend 2 hours on one call. Just another sign this guy is full of crap.

Also, George for the Clippers picks? That one is special kind of stupid.

I just scrolled that dude's timeline and holy **** there are some laughers in there. Amazing actually. He had "Breaking News" that LeBron James tore his meniscus during the ECF because he had ice on his knees.

He also said IT told him he was going to take sleeping pills.

And my favorite was that due to legal reasons trades had to be announced by The Vertical.

What a joke. Also, always good to remember that no credible insider has picture of a player/coach/GM as their avatar. They also tend to have more than 250 followers.

The only way we get Davis is a trade involving Brown & Tatum. If I'm the pelicans Im asking for both plus the LA/SAC pick. If I'm the Celtics I do that trade. As much as it hurts giving up Tatum, having a core of Kyrie, Davis, and Hayward is sick. You have to give up alot to get Davis but in the end you are getting a dominate player, that will put is in running for a championship for years.

They made a huge mistake signing Holiday to a 26 million per year contract...that effectively closed any window the Pelican's may or may not have had.

He's a nice player but he's not a 26 million a year player, and he's barely been healthy since 2012. It's hard to believe he's been in the league for 9 years.

Some teams just can't be patient.

Just a thought... If we had kept the no.1 pick (sup Fultz) and not parlayed it into two high picks, the dream of Davis would be farther away.

We'll just have Tatum and no LAL/SAC pick to dangle. That MEM pick hopefully turns out better than expected. That's another potential asset esp if there's a third team involved.

I don't think anything happens for at least another calendar year, but it's good that the idea of maybe playing alongside Kyrie and Gordie and being part of a topnotch organization in Boston is already planted in Brow's brain.

I love Davis, but I wouldn't want to trade Tatum for him. There's something about having your own homegrown players and seeing them succeed that warms the heart. I think Tatum and Brown could be very special for a very long time, and it would be a huge shame to see them wearing another teams colours.

Of course, if I had that cold chunk of ice Danny Ainge has beating in his chest, I probably wouldn't hesitate to make this deal
Obama to Zach Lavine: ‘I used to be able to get up like you back in the day.’
Jaren Jackson Jr on Doncic: 'I thought he was a myth'

Can we lock this thread? They aren't trading him lol. Almost everyone of these trade ideas would be rejected in a second. Pelicans have absolutely no reason to trade him when he's under contract until 2021. They would only trade him in the last year of his deal if he tells them he won't re-sign. Stop wasting your time.

This guy is a clown. He posted the Hayward signing hours after Chris Haynes did.

He had Kyrie like almost two months early, though. Not even sure he had even asked for a trade from CLE yet.

No idea, but I'll at least listen there.

I keep telling anyone that will listen that Jaylen Brown's value is through the roof right now. We're sleeping on Jaylen as a prospect because the rookie in many ways is overshadowing him. But let's not forget that Jaylen just turned 21, is one of the most improved players in the NBA, has developed into a plus defender, has improved his shot making ability and often times plays like a seasoned vet.
A contact of mine told me that Jaylen won over many people during his trip to Africa for the NBA Africa showcases game this past summer.
Jayson Tatum is a pretty special young talent, but so isn't Jaylen. If JB went to a situation like NOLA where he was more featured he would end up a 5X's All-Star

That Memphis pick holds a lot of value. Memphis is having a tough year right now....they could end up making changes...if they don't and can stay somewhat healthy in 2019 then the pick will convey and be 9-16 type pick....We should be rooting for the grizz to bottom out next year and keep their pick...the following year (2020) it's protected 1-6....in 2021 it's unprotected which is our best case scenario getting a Top 5 pick from them in 2021.

just imagine this scenario....The NBA Champion Boston Celtics have the #1 pick of the 2021 NBA draft.

Did someone has a theme song for this topic or are we taking it seriously like it's a regular topic?
