Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
We don't know what his physical therapy entailed, but it takes as long as it takes. It's like you spraining your ankle and after 5 weeks it's still really sore and bothering you. And you go to the doctor and go hey doc, what's the deal? I thought this thing should feel better by now? What's going on? And he'll tell you exactly what any doctor would tell you. Everybody's body responds differently. It takes as long as it takes. There's no use getting mad, when you're better and ready to go 100% on that ankle again, then you will be. Until then you just need to be patient.
I guess he just heals slowly or whatever. Maybe he feels ready to play in NBA games pain-wise, but physically he doesn't think he's himself yet.
People acting like this is really weird, it isn't. If he were to still not be ready next season, that would be really weird. A couple months isn't that odd.

Most times the type of "strengthening" you do during rehab stages are completely different then those you do with actual strength training.
Its usually very light weight, stretching and other light work to try and alleviate pain, moderately rebuild damaged areas and regain mobility. Once that is done and you get back to a relatively normal baseline, then you begin to ramp it up.
Seeing the video from a few days ago of him lifting weights and such with the Sixers trainer is probably a good sign. Highly doubt they would have him slinging around dumbbells if he was still having issues with the shoulder.
Dude needs to get back though. If not, the teams mishandled an injury AGAIN and I really don't see how they can maintain any type of credibility.

Bryan Colangelo tells @CSNPhilly that Ben Simmons should be getting a final scan on Monday. No specific timetable, but return "soon enough."

That was Seltzer’s Twitter, last January.
I have no idea why fans don’t trust this organization when it comes to injuries.

Well, I hope he feels like himself soon, because I'm watching Tatum's finger nearly snap his finger off his hand and come back in the game 2 minutes later and do this:

Mik317 wrote:no one clowned the Pelicans for that trade. Not at the time of the trade. They got a young allstar PG to go with their star. It only got bad after it was clear Jrue was kinda damaged goods.
Jrue was worth that price, and if Fultz becomes a similar level player to Jrue then it will be fine. Fultz can be even better than that, but Jrue might be his wheelhouse projection.
The problem with Jrue was/is his health.
We didn’t make that trade because we received more than we sent out. We made that trade to start the process.

Wasn’t that the scan that didn’t go well? Simmons was returning from a broken foot, and it was obviously only going to be diagnosed by a scan.
Fultz, and Embiid for that matter, have soft tissue injuries so a scan isn’t going to help. If they are pain free then they are physically ready to play outside of conditioning perhaps.
In the case of Fultz though they have to unring his shooting form before he comes back, and they didn’t start working on that until he was pain free.
I don’t know why fans cry over spilled milk allnof the time. They said at the last update that they will evaluate him again in 2-3 weeks, and people are now getting their panties in a bunch because they think that something sneaky is going on.
I wish the team was more forthcoming with injury information, and I wish that our media was more interested in getting the information, but nothing is going on with the Fultz situation other than they are going through their process of getting him back on the court. That means fixing the shot, or getting back to where the shot was in the summer, and that doesn’t have a timeline around it.

It's funny the people that supported Hinkie are not (iMO) blind to the mistakes he made. This false narrative was probably started by the colangelo's.

There is nothing wrong with his shot.
I think people try to explain away BB and BC stupidity with logic.
Well there was something wrong with his shot last we saw of him, he has been declared healthy, so what is the explanation? Vacation?
He is just not mentally ready. He likes traveling with the team. He likes collecting a pay check. He might even have a girlfriend in Kentucky. But actually playing....nah he aint ready yet.

Conclusion from Conspiracy Theorists? His shot is broken, he's a mental midget and Sixers are preventing him from playing so he doesn't embarass himself, as they already know he's a bust![]()

ya, like the wise one ericb said... we are just going thru the process of getting him ready for the court again.. all the videos of him chillin moving that arm all over the place means nothing... laughing, joking, dunking, he just isnt done with the process yet.
We got to teach him how to shoot.. i mean ****, do you really think at age 19 and playing bball most his life he is ready to just come right back and shoot?
you guys are ridiculous, jumping strait to conclusions that something fishy is going on... as if having muscle soreness DOESNT require 2 months off!! And honestly, where do you even have the nerve to think something fishy is going on? It isn't like our medical staff is known for royally screwing things up with injuries in the past, or having a history of lying to us as fans.
Like some of you guys just out of no where immediately go right into negative behavior, like, this team knows what it is doing, over the last 5 years we have proven we know how to win. Have some damn blind faith gotdamnit

Pain is the last to present itself and the first to go away with these types of injuries. If the pain doesn't return after these 3 weeks then I'm sure he'll be back practicing with the team getting ready to play.KrazySixersD wrote:LongLiveHinkie wrote:We don't know what his physical therapy entailed, but it takes as long as it takes. Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
They said they would reevaluate in 3 weeks back on December 10th I believe. Ok....that "reevaluation" should take place on the 31st according to the slotted time frame.
I guess my question is what exactly does that mean? Saying that they will reevaluate in three weeks sounds so bleak and somewhat withholding. That is what has irritated me personally. It's not that I think the organization has some secret agenda, or that Fultz is a psychological mess, or that he's been kidnapped by a band of ninjas and the guy showing up at the games is really a Fultz doppelganger who happens to actually be a TGI Fridays employee and is merely standing in while Colangelo desperately negotiates the freedom of Fultz. No....I don't think that, nor do I think the medical staff is incompetent. It's just rather annoying that we have gone through this every year for the past five years dating back to Noel.
So along with that being frustrating, it's also just me not being patient enough. I realize that. I really want to see what this kid can do (I'm sure we all do). But being left with "we will reevaluate" just isn't good enough. It makes them sound like they don't know what's going on either to me. I get keeping things tight lipped, and I hope that's what they're doing, but this organization has been caught lying in the past. Blatantly with Ben Simmons last season.

lmao so you are ok with after 3 weeks of more no pain, THEN they can start having him practice for multiple more weeks before the next progression?
lmao plz tell me you are joking
remember, this isnt a torn rotator cuff, this isnt a ligament issue.. this is a **** muscle soreness issue
