So if they played him 30 minutes they would have lost by 25? The guy just missed three weeks due to a knee issue. They have to be careful in a back-to-back, you know just like every team isn the NBA is with a key player who has injury issues. Nobody tried tonight so I think Brroks just said f-ck it, I'll just go with the bench and save the rest for Saturday.

I’m just saying, if he was on a 25 minute restriction, why did he only play 8 in the first half??? That’s bizarre to me.

That was according to Brooks' plan due to the back-to-back. He said after the game, "I was going to play him just eight minutes in the first half and get him most of his minutes in the second, but we didn't keep the game close."

That makes no sense at all though. The first half is just as important as the 2nd.

But problem number 1 is leadership. Wall acts as if he is some leader of the team but he doesn’t even lead by example, let alone being a real voice in the locker room. He unintentionally bashed his teammate over the offseason to the media.

The combination of a “players coach” with a team that has no leadership to start with, game over.

Trade Wall fire Brooks. Build around Otto (24) Beal (24) Oubre (22) Satoransky (26) and whatever you get back for Wall. Hire a coach like the one the rockets have.

Yuck, sorry dude but no. You can knock Wall's leadership all you want but he's a proven commodity. I want no part of building around Beal. Trade him along with Porter and get some real talent here to run with Wall.

I’m just making the simple point that you can’t fix the culture or bring in leadership when Wall calls himself “the guy” and says things like “this is my team”

You can’t fix that by trading Beal or Porter. Plus Wall isn’t even that good. We all know he’s not a superstar.

And you certainly won't fix it building around Mr 20 points on 50 shots...or Mr Passive Aggressive. Wall may not be a superstar but he's light years ahead of those two.

Disagree, Wall is not as good as Otto. I mean, what the hell are we even talking about here? Wall is shooting 41% from the field this season and playing absolutely no defense like usual. His rebounds/assists/steals are all down. His TS is at .511. We are about to pay this guy 40 million per season for his past prime years. He has developed no game whatsoever outside of being athletic. The biggest problem with him is his lack of leadership, EVERY SINGLE PLAYER ON THE LAST TWO WIZARDS TEAMS plays harder and more unselfishly than Wall.

If the face of the franchise isn't a leader and doesn't even lead by example, and you pair him with a coach that doesn't give a **** what the players do, you are never going to win anything at all.

and how absurd is this stat: Our starting 5 is a grand total of +1.6 points per 100 possessions. In almost the exact same amount of minutes, the lineup of Wall-Beal-Oubre-Porter-Gortat is +20.2. I mean holy **** ****, how stupid can a coach possibly be to continue this stupidity. we are sub .500 against teams with losing records. The bench unit with Satoranksy at point guard is +2.1, sub Frazier in for Sato, -7.6, yet it took 25 F'ing games for that idiot to figure it out, and still took a Wall injury for him to give the guy a chance.

forget all of the little basketball things, this team has lost the winning culture, they have no leadership, they have a terrible, and I mean bottom 5 bad coach, no effort whatsoever.

it's 2015-2016 all over again when they quit on Randy

why the hell is anyone surprised that the Verizon Center or whatever the **** its called now, is always empty? who the hell wants to watch this team on TV? let alone pay actual money to sit through 48 minutes of the game of basketball being disrespected.

step 1, trade players who don't play hard, for players that actually play hard. Seems easy enough.

Can you imagine adding Cousins to this group of sometimes try hards?

Just the quotes from these guys make me ill, they come of as completely lacking in self-awareness.

Morris wrote:“Even with this loss, I think we’re about to turn the corner anyway,” Morris said. “I just feel it. . . . Losing teams are always coming into games thinking they’re going to lose. We didn’t think we were going to lose this game tonight. It just happened. I feel like still even in practice, guys are fully [engaged], and I feel like we’re going to turn this thing around.”

Wall wrote:“We’re just not making shots,” Wall said, “but at the same time we’re not defending at a high level.”

“Just be focused every game and just play with some sense of urgency, and I think we’ll be fine,” Wall said. “We have an opportunity to get on a winning streak, but we just got to play with a better sense of urgency.”

I landed at EWR earlier in the day and seriously thought about dragging my girlfriend to catch the game at Barclays center. Glad I dodged a bullet on that one.

Puke. How can you sit there and make comments like that after losing by 40 to the Brooklyn Nets

Bulls fan here.

Wow. Reading that actually makes me feel lucky to have Fred Hoiberg as our coach  I see for Brooks, nothings changed since OKC. He very likely imo, lost that championship with his refusal to sit Perkins, start Thabo and go small with Ibaka at C. Perkins was useless and Miami wasnt a size heavy team anyway.

You guys need to fire this moron ASAP

I wasn't even pissed yesterday I watch some part of 1st half and saw lazy Morris ass didn't want even contest any shots and Brooks rided him all game long it was too much to handle. Add to that Beal forcing every shots.

I went to sleep. I don't care. I think this season will ends like last season of Wittmans coaching. We end up short or barely qualify to PO just to be mordered in first round playoffs.

Celtics are bad lastly but still probably will kick our asses...

More important things are now.
Merry Christmas to every Wizards posters and especially thanks from me to all You guys for help! I got a priviledge to cherish another Christmas with family as a new person, I hope better one :)

Congrats to you Tricky. Happy for you & proud of you. May 2018 be even better!

The only possible silver lining to this season is that Ted -- finally!! -- sees the light (just a little glimpse ought to do it) & fires Ernie.

I'm glad I missed this one. Smart move.

I suspect I'll be happier if I continue to miss games.

I really gotta lay off about this, but Beal saying “teams are targeting us and giving us their best shot” has to be one of the dumbest quotes of the year. That is exactly what is wrong with this team, they think they are something special. It’s like his comments about Cleveland trying to avoid them in the 2nd round when we couldn’t even beat Boston to get to them.

I hate this team
