As good as Tatum is, I thought his immaturity after making a 3 and then sticking his tongue out with a big smile - not the way MJ used to do it - was the kind of thing that gets your team out of focus. Bad things usually happen when a player showboats like that. And the Wiz were lazer-focussed. I criticise Oubre a lot, but he was especially good down the stretch. Otto's offensive rebounding was also huge, as the small-ball team worked at the end - despite giving up that offensive rebound to Horford on a missed FT. And the Wiz can do better. A lot of open shots were missed. With more consistency and good health, this team can be fun to watch the rest of the season.

Chiming in after an absence due as much to simply being really busy as any other single reason.

I love Oubre of late. Sato has been subtly decent or better. Scott has been just sick but is bound
for a reversion to the mean. All that said, the losses to bad teams, what can you say? Several of
them would have been avoided by the simplicity of more clutch FT shooting - Beal, I'm looking at you.

These early to mid season losses will probably keep us from the Game 7 disappointments in May
(or even April) but I really like having Porter/Oubre/Sato for small ball lineups. We could make
some noise by year's end barring a key injury. Or not. Probably won't make my 54 win prediction
but it's not completely out of reach. We're above .500 even though we've been maddeningly
inconsistent.

Merry belated xmas everyone and Happy New Year (my band is playing Falls Church First Watch
at The Falls Church Episcopal on E Fairfax St at 8 (it's free)).

1 year to go to retirement.

PS Also finally bought a /really/ good TV after watching on a Yahoo FreeCycle 20 year Sony Projection TV
for the last 5 years or so. True OLED TVs rule and I went for one on Black Friday. Perfect black.

Aloha, dobrojim. Have a Happy New Year!

Right now I'm thinking 48 wins. Just matters on how they're playing at the end of the season. Time will tell.

Again, I don’t see what I’m supposed to be praising? Wall is now about to dip below .500 TS% along with a 0.3 DBPM and a DWS of 0.9 which is the lowest of his career by far.

Win shares for a 23 game season =/= win shares for an 82 game season.

Wait...more info on this band is needed...>one when are they playing exactly. What type of music do you play? thanks for coming through!!

The band I am a full time official member of is The Stewart Sisters. www.thestewartsisters.com

We're on YouTube (search for "Another Place & Time") with the ampersand.

Here is a blurb we came up with for promotion.

With a style best described as homegrown harmony from Americana roots, sisters-in-law Sherry (mandolin, flute and vocals) and Valeria Stewart (guitar, vocals) have been playing and singing together since 2009. The band includes Jim Nagle (dobro, guitar) and Annie Jones (bass, vocals).  Artisan vocal harmonies with subtle notes of bluegrass, folk, and blues, with a dash of swing, all mixed together in a big kettle and cooked over a slow fire until it settles into a long and winding groove. They have recorded their debut CD at Cabin Studio with sound engineer and Grammy winner Les Thompson.

[edit, what I meant to say here was that we are sabotaging our chances of getting HCA, especially
later in the playoffs when we could really use HCA all the more. Don't want to play CLE or BOS
in Gm 7 at their place, but that seems a lot more likely with our current record]

Aloha.

Wifey and I finally celebrated our 25th anniversary (2.5 years overdue) and made it to paradise on earth.
5 nights in Maui and 4 on Kauai. It was awesome. Jumped off a small cliff on Muai (Venus Pool).
Now back in the 'real' world. Dang. Was nice.

You know you're someplace different when places that need to be publicly accessible 24/7
like an airport terminal or hotel lobby are open breezeways. No doors. 'Cause it's always
freakin nice there.
