If the Browns don't improve their QB situation, they will draft at the top of the 2019 draft too.

Look at it Like This.

When Josh Rosen comes out he's the Number One Pick. it's John Elway. he's such a good talent. regardless. any team will draft him anyway whenever he decides to come out. he's Lebron. he's the kind of player that rebuilds a franchise so he's using his leverage he knows he's great.

Next year he can possibly go to a rebuilding team that will be a contender with him. i.e. Arizona LA chargers Denver Dallas Cowboys Miami Dolphins. Oakland Raiders.

There are better situations. and he's the kind of guy who can hang out in L.A. get his degree play Quarterback try to win a national championship or Heisman and go be the number one pick again.

That's why the Browns are the Browns. cause the year they tank they might be looking at Lamar Jackson as their number one pick. Rosen is going to do what's best for Josh Rosen and everybody knows it's about where you are drafted.

So right now we are sitting 8th in the draft. If we win next week and Oakland and Cinci lose then it looks like we drop to 11th. Just burying our pick. Top pass rusher gone, top two CBs gone, top ILB gone. Lovely.

If the Rams are playing for a bye, it may not be easy to beat them.

Why is nobody talking about Frank Ragnow? He's a prefect pick for the Niners IMO. Niners need a C, and he's great at pass protection; he's also nimble enough to play in the ZBS IMO.

I know he's been injured this year, but he's one of the few must-drafts IMO.

Like Isaiah Wynn too. The interiour OL and RB are the only positions besides QB I actually like in this draft class (Nelson, Braden Smith). TE is decent. Don't know about safety other than the top 2 (haven't paid that much attention).

WR, DT, DE, CB, LB & OT are crap (depth-wise).

Albert Breer is hearing Marcus Davenport is going top 15 and possibly the second pass rusher after Chubb who he thinks goes top 5.

I like how many olinemen he has going before our pick including Nelson. It’s possible some of Jackson, Ward, Edmunds and Smith make it to us. Wish I had seen Davenport play. Will hunt to see what is out there. Found this:

Matt Maiocco says that 49ers may draft a tackle and play him on the inside until he replaces Staley or Brown.

I can understand letting Staley go because of his age and contract. But Brown is only 24 and on his rookie deal. They would not extend him?

Hate that they let Iuapati go after his rookie deal and that they didn't get more than 4 or 5 seasons from Davis. That's two first-round picks that they didn't get enough seasons from. One was by choice, letting him walk and the other wasn't.

But they can't be burning first-round picks only to get 4 or 5 seasons out of those players any more.

Derwin James? Q. Nelson? At 11 a team might be a bit more comfortable trading up at that spot instead at #4. Perhaps a team like the Bills for instance to to get a QB!? This year, winning out and ending up with the 11th pick as a result of winning senseless games wouldn’t be the end of the world IMO. Reason why is because we have our franchise QB in place, and there isn’t an AJ Green, Randy Moss type receivers worth getting in the top 5. So 11th is probably a pretty good spot to be!?

I believe in Lynch. Not Shanahan, but Lynch. Lynch did not want to trade up for Beathard but was eventually coerced into it by Shanahan. He knows how to manuever picks... I trust him a lot when it comes to managing our draft.

its rather amazing we went from #2 to current #8 to potential #11...

it sucks, really does but I do enjoy seeing Jimmy G lift us and give us the fans some hope.

I like Davenport's measures...

but that 2nd article is from 11/16/17 no? a bit older than I like lol....

Edmunds is someone I'm intrigued for the similar reasons as well.

Unfortunately that is the reality of life in the NFL with the salary cap. The 49ers were pretty tight against the cap and Arizona made Iupati a contract offer the 49ers felt they couldn't match for cap reasons. I've followed some of the Arizona stories and from some of what I've read it seems Iupati hasn't really panned out for them at least based on the contract. I am hoping they bring Brown back and extend him. I think it depends on how they feel about his commitment this offseason by getting healthy and keeping his weight in check. With change needed at the interior spots hate seeing changes being made at the tackle spots too

I think a lot of that is Marathe.

CB Jaire Alexander out of Louisville is one of the only CBs not slotted in the 1st round I think could be a quality player.

Yes indeed!! A LOT of that is Marathe, but Lynch seems to know which players are worth investing in. He sorta missed out by passing up on Deshaun Watson, but he made up for it by getting Jimmy G! Thus far, JG seems to have what it takes to be a top 10 QB or even perhaps a the top 5 best QBs in the league next season. Giants, Bills, and Cleveland all had their chances to land Jimmy G, but Lynch got him.

God this draft sucks.

I'd say we should go with Quentin Nelson, but apparently I have no idea how to project Guards. I thought Jonathan Cooper and Chance Warmack were going to be perennial all-pros.
