When Russell is back, I'd like to see him into the starting lineup over Crabbe. With Crabbe, LeVert, Stauskas and Harris coming off the bench, we will have a pletora of guards and wings and maybe we can reduce Carroll's minutes at SF and give him Acy's minutes at PF.

Tracking Players performance against the Spurs 26 Dec 2017

CLV - 35 (++)
Dinwiddie - 23 (=)
RHJ - 23 (=)
Allen - 23 (+)
Crabbe - 20 (=)
Acy - 17 (=)
Zeller - 16 (-)
DMC - 8 (--)
Harris - 5 (-)
Stauskas - 3 (-)
Doyle - 2 (-)

Not enough positives so let's hope the players pick it up the next game.
Stability is a myth perpetuated by the agents called homeostasis and status quo....

watching Aldridge crush RHJ in the post makes me think of what Okafor's ceiling could be.

Yeah, I feel like I complain about the refs every game. Someone needs to eat a fine and complain about these officials.

Kenny is going to get kicked out of one of these games sooner than later if this keeps up. That Indiana game and now last night...he has to be nearing the end of his ropes. the problem is i think we are one of the leading teams when it comes to FTAs per contest. but the refs are swallowing the whistle on fouls that are clear as day.

if there's a stretch 4 in the d league that is better than him, i'd love to see him. sometimes there just isn't a quick fix. Okafor will be taking Acy's minutes soon enough.

The Nets did the best that they could. Keep in mind we are still very young and not a complete team as of yet, the fact that we didn't get drubbed by 30 by a team we were clearly overmatched against is encouraging in itself.

He shooting hasnt been that bad outside the first month. in december he has shot it ok. i think he will finsih at 35-37% + assuming his role doesnt drastically change.

Okafor doesn't replace a stretch big at all. Kenny might do it just because Acys been THAT bad. But with RHJ and no stretch 5, you can tell Kenny is pretty uncomfortable with the lack of shooting.

Putting him next to a center like Allen or Zeller also does him a disservice. Doesn't really put him in a position to succeed.

I don't mind Acy staying a with us. He's a good bench non-rotational guy, like the 13th man and if injuries come, we can plug him in. But he shouldn't be in the 10-11 man rotation at all.

One last thing about our guy Acy. I'm not 100% confident he'll gloriously bounce out of this shooting slump. He's not a pure shooter like Allen Crabbe or Joe Harris. It's something he added to his game to stick around in the league. He doesn't have much experience getting it back together. Hes never been the guy on the scouting report that's known as a shooter.

The added attention from the defense + the pressure from the coaching staff to let it fly if he has an inch of space is a tough transition for any big. He's attempting 8 3s per 36 minutes. Those are ELITE volume shooter numbers.

Acy brings nothing outside of supposedly being a "stretch 4" but shoots it in the low 30s...smart teams will give him the shot like the Spurs did last night. He hurts us on the court IMO.

Anyway I thought we battled the Spurs for most of the night and it was surprisingly a competitive game. Manu really was the X factor... insane player.
