Brandon Jennings

Post#1 » by JackieMoon33 » Thu Dec 28, 2017 3:24 am

Call me crazy, but I'd love to see him back in a Pistons uniform.

He is currently over in China averaging 28ppg, 7apg, and shooting 38% from 3. Still only 28 years old and had a great relationship with Dre and the guys. He knows the system well and Stan seemed to have a ton of faith in him before that injury hit. Would be pretty wild to see him come in to replace RJ, just like RJ replaced him a few years ago.

Whether it's a trade or bringing someone like Jennings in, this team will most likely need to make a move.

Nah, China is way different than the NBA and he looked washed up his last stint in the league.

Wouldn’t hurt to work him out. A blown achilles can be career ending, but not always and he’s had time to recover and adjust. I’d be surprised if they rush to anything.

I'd take him. The guys who played with him have all made it clear that they like him very much. Couldn't hurt.

All for Brandon to come back and fill in the gap. At least he already knows the system and has chemistry with much of the roster.

We're only carrying 14 players right - so we could sign anybody without cutting a player. Jennings seemed finished though - injury ruined him. Wouldn't necessarily be against it - can he get out of his Chinese deal at any time though? IIRC Lawson looked decent last season didn't he?

Anybody but Beno. Udrih would be such a wave the white flag move IMO.

Jennings and Johnson are pretty tight off the court IIRC. They could be a decent second unit - Brandon brings some swagger to the Pistons, and you can tell the kid loves playing basketball.

I'm torn. I voted to give him a look though. The team plays well when the guards push the pace and get early looks. Most of the vets that might be available don't play that style. The obvious concern is defense. If we are going to win during this stretch, our defense is going to have to carry us.

Our fan base really likes this guy for whatever reason. He's done playing at the fast transition pace though. He looks like a 3rd stringer against NBA quickness and athleticism now.

I didn't even like him before that injury let alone now that it's multiple years after with him in friggin China.

He had a good little run after Smith but he's always been a no defense inefficient chucker with no inside finishing ability who even struggles on a wide open fast break with finishing and will more often then not just stop and chuck a shot instead.

My opinion is biased because B Jennings is one of my favorite players so I will not vote. I haven't seen much from him in the chinese league lately so I really don't know if he's NBA ready or not.

He would be making a packet in China, so not sure why he would want to come and be backup to Ish on lousy money.

Remember when we first got Reggie and he had a 20 assist game along with a couple triple doubles

Have the gods gone mad? Or, are many of you lacking a short term memory and/or ability to google Jennings' stats post-achillies injury?

He was absolutely awful post injury. I would gladly take a flyer on a d-league popper than him.
