We can see but I doubt you will hear anything from here. He has been great by all accounts and everyone says our locker room has been solid this year. It was a concern for us coming in because of his past but I think some of that stems from certain egos he hasn't gotten along with other places. We will see though.

Washington would have to deal Mahinmi (to match contracts), Gortat (to avoid the ego issues) and our 1st (to provide value) for Howard and a small salary matching contract (MCW) plus a 2nd (to have SOMEONE young coming in to develop). That's about the best we can do without tearing up our core with Howard's contract.

Toronto probably kicks the tires on a deal. Problem is Howard obviously is talented but to me has a ego problem or something along those lines. He's gone/been on really good teams and just regressed them. Look at what happened in Los Angeles, Orlando, Atlanta and Houston. He went to teams that had legit shots at making NBA Finals appearances or winning and turned them into less then successful teams.

If I am Toronto I am keeping guys like Jakob Poeltl OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, DeRozan, Lowry and Wright off the table plus future picks.

So unless they want say Fred VanVleet or Bebe Nogueira plus Jonas Valanciunas that's our best offer

Structure the minutes so Toronto would always have one of Lowry or DeRozan on court playing together with one of Ibaka or Howard all 48 minutes.

I think the problem with trading Dwight is getting anything of value for him. The Minny deal above isn't a very good deal for Charlotte but the value seems about there but the contracts are worse with the time left on Dieng and Shabazz expiring. The Bucks or Wizards could be interesting depending on what the deal is but it seems like you end up taking a smaller but longer contract for a lesser player which just doesn't seem very attractive. I guess it just depends on if there is any sweetener that a team would throw in.

I don't think MIN can do this deal anyway. I can't see them altering their plan to develop Towns as a stretch-5 by adding Howard. And if the Wolves added $18 mil in salary next season, the lux tax implications would be crushing.

Counting the Draft Pick, the trade I proposed would only add 4.8 million dollars. I also don't see the bizarre fixation on keeping Karl-Anthony Towns at the Center position, he can develop equally fine at either position; if anything, having a rebounder like Dwight Howard next to him would really help take pressure off of him.

The reason people want to see Towns develop as a stretch-5 is because offensively, he would be nearly impossible to defend by most opposing centers, with his outside game, handle, and post moves. Many teams are trying to use their more mobile 4 to slow him down, but if the Wolves have another 4 on the floor, then it becomes really hard to defend. A player with his skillset is rare, and the future of the Wolves franchise is Towns, and they will do all they can to maximize his potential.

All good, I was confused given that you generally are the cap-guy, haha.

In any case, Towns already draws the better defender with Taj (who is also a damn good player), so I don’t think the difference would be too much. In all honesty, I feel it would help Towns a lot to not have to face guys like Steven Adams and Deandre Jordan (who just eviscerate him every time). Given his size, Towns already is able to abuse Power-Forwards, in my opinion; not making him have to get demolished by the physical monsters out there would make him an even bigger match-up nightmare.

I just kind of feel that Dwight Howard would give Minnesota something a bit different that would pretty much cover them on every match-up (because Minnesota, as it stands, is in trouble against Adams in the playoffs).

I don think Cavs give up enough. Cavs 30th pick isn't enough to dump TT (they can't trade both picks anyway). IT is injured and expiring. I don't think the Nets 1st, looking to be 6-10 gets you even Walker alone.
