Ian only played 7 minutes. Gortat only played 24 minutes. The Wizards appear to be playing Morris and Scott at center more.CobraCommander wrote:80sballboy wrote:Chocolate City Jordanaire wrote:KO, Sato, and Scott combined to shoot 6-10 on three point shots.
At one point Scott Brooks effectively had Mike Scott playing the five. Mike Scott played more minutes than Markieff Morris. Morris had 11 rebounds in limited minutes. When he hits the boards like that and he plays 5 as well the Wizards are going to be a lot tougher to beat. Brooks kept Otto Porter in at power forward for most of Porter's 36 minutes.
Brooks deciding to go small has been a good decision. I like that Mahinmi only got 7 minutes.

I got shi-t the other day for saying that's the death lineup but it is. If Kieff is rebounding and defending. If Scott is shooting well, we don't need Gortat and Manhimi unless you are going against a quality center. Gortat just can't guard stretch 5's. He can't protect the rim. I really don't know what Mahinmi can do. I thought he had a nice 5-6 game stretch and then he went back to being a stiff. It's the obvious need, a frontcourt athletic 4-5 man. I also wouldn't mind another 2-3 that can defend but rim protection is the biggest need.
Mahinmi isnt a NBA basketball player...he has a NBA body...see Kwame Brown for others with this problem. Gortat has his place when his shot is falling. But when he missing bunnies he cant get on the floor. Why cant Jason Smith get more time?
