Brooklyn Nets guard D’Angelo Russell is on schedule in his rehab from arthroscopic knee surgery back on November 17th.

“He’s progressing along with our schedule,” Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson said, according to Greg Logan of Newsday.

“I’d just say he’s working his tail off. I was watching him in the gym yesterday. It’s an arduous process. He’s putting in a ton of time, he’s putting in full days. It’s been amazing to see his work ethic. He’s been great.”

Brooklyn has seen some good play from Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert, who have filled in during Russell’s absence.

“We’ll worry about that when we get there,” Atkinson said of the logjam in the backcourt. “That’s a good problem to have, right? It will just be more competition for minutes and spots. Way back here in the back of my mind, I know what we want to do. But we’ve got to wait until D’Angelo is back to really address that.”

We need a win here. Start the year off right. they played their asses off yesterday and came so close to knocking off Boston. Orlando has been struggling, we need to run them off of the court.

Dinwiddie will really need to get the starting unit off to a good start. Get the ball moving and stop settling. drive and dish.

PLEASE WIN

With that said I hope it’s a hard fought competitive game.

Really hope Orlando explores a Hezonja/Dinwiddie swap of some sort. Maybe return your SRP with him.

Is this a joke? We would never do that.

Hezonja is worthless and expiring. If you think he’s worth that 2nd you’re gonna be very disappointed. And I value Dinwiddie less than a lot of the other fans on this board.

Our starters have been really underwhelming to start the game.

Because the guards on our bench are better than the ones that start.

I am always amazed at how Payton can play with that hair.

LeVert is playing at a high level as usual.

He is, although I notice they are paying attention to CLV. They drew a foul on him and Payton stole the ball from him. They're also getting in the passing lanes.

Can't even argue this

I'd be in the camp to start LeVert at PG next to Russell when he comes back for maximum effectiveness, but i'm worried that the bench unit will lose some pop without LeVert. maybe Okafor will give us that boost off of the bench offensively to make up for it?
