I wonder if Dame will be back. I'm inclined to think if he wasn't ready yesterday, he's not ready today.

in a way, the Blazers have had great timing for Dame being sidelined:

19-17....Denver
11-25....Lakers
17-19....Philly
10-26....Atlanta
13-24....Chicago

three teams with a combined 34-75 record and two teams at a combined .500, and both those at home.

To me the timing is terrible, they only went 3-2... had they gone 4-1, 5-0 I would agree with you... Given the difficulty of the Blazers schedule upcoming, they need to be beating all of these sub-500 teams at a better rate than 3-2

Without Lillard aren't the Blazers a lottery team themselves? 3-2 sounds pretty good, if so.

Three of the starters last night went for 40 or more minutes and the other two were close to the 40 mark. Maybe time to do a Popovich and have the deep bench carry the load tonight, and keep Lillard benched. The Blazers have no obligation to give the Cleveland fans and NBATV a competitive game.

piggy-backing on the narrative, the Blazers had elevated their SOS to 23rd after the Denver game; but four straight games against teams with losing records, including 3 games against teams in the bottom 5 has Portland's SOS back down to 29th. The only team with an easier SOS is tonight's opponent....the Cavs

starting with tonight's game, Portland has a real difficult 7 game stretch. The way Portland is playing I can see a 1-6 or 2-5 record over that stretch and Portland dipping below the .500 level. Of course, over the last 2 seasons, that kind of stretch has been Portland hss surprised teams

Hopefully this is the point of the season where Dame goes crazy (and efficient), and Nurk unleashes the beast... but we've been waiting all season for that... I will be happy if it finally all clicks, but man... losing confidence that we're going to see that happen.

I'm of the same mind. I keep thinking they're going to get it together but it never really happens. One step forward one step back. I also wonder if it will happen at all.

Still trying to be optimistic but it's getting tougher. But they're still in the fight so the glass is still half full.

Strength of schedule is based upon the record of opponents at game days. It is not based upon the comparative health of the teams when they play, the amount of comparative travel, who has played how many games in a week, the variance in net points held by teams (that is not all losses are the same), a hot hand by a player henceforth without one, etc, etc., etc. It is a simple indicator, but one without that much power.

Here's hoping that unlike last year in Cleveland, Kevin Love doesn't go off for 8 3's with 30+ points in the 1st quarter against Portland.

Sorry to see it at the time, but it was a hell of a great shooting performance.

Turner played more than CJ in the 1st half.

both with 20 minutes...for CJ that's 20 1st half minutes coming less then 24 hours after he played 45 minutes. Hope Portland has some legs in the 4th Q
