Potential may be, but not current talent. Clips have 3 players clearly better than anyone on the lakers, Grizzlies have two themselves, Jazz have a couple. In addition they have some veteran leadership from impact players. Don’t really know why people think the lakers currently have more talent than them.

It's hard to argue when you put it like that. But it's still been such a massively disappointing season. I never thought we would contend for a playoff berth or anything like that. But like a lot of us, I did hope/expect this would mark a turning point, where we finally started to compete a little bit and see some progress after being stuck in the wilderness these past few years. Granted, injuries have been a factor. But to see us still treading water, a game away from last place in the entire damn NBA ... holy sh*t, man. And then to not have a pick in what's supposed to be a draft top-heavy with the superstar talent that we're still lacking, it's beyond demoralizing. I guess I'll try to take your sig to eart. (This is not something I've uttered very many times over the years as a fan of both teams, but thank goodness for the Vikings.)

No, let's not. Talent, yes. But compare the ages of that talent before firing Luke.

Ball just turned 15, just started getting zits
Ingram is 14, still breast feeds
Kuzma is 16, watches sponge bob, drinks formula
Randle is 17 and in his second grade of NBA school
Hart is 12, just recently started his first NBA game

Jim and Mitch locked up $40M+ cap space in Moz and Deng in perpetuity, B Scott taught our talent all the wrong crap for two years and spread a sour Kobe-only-eats culture.

Yeah, let's fire Luke. Patience is a virtue.

Patience? I've been patient since 2013's fiasco. We've had enough I think, if we had that lottery pick then I'd be really happy about these moral victories (close Ls) racking up, but the truth is this team can win a lot more games than 11 of 37.

Except for the C (and maybe PF) position, I see the Lakers better than all those teams in every single position.

Really?

I'm not coming into the Lakers sxn and "troll" or anything by the way. I've called the Lakers the most interesting team for me in the league this year, have caught every game. but this talent thing, just isn't the case, especially in the NBA where top end talent matters. More talent than ALL those teams? At EVERY SINGLE POSITION? That's a gigantic stretch.

- Rudy Gobert (Who's been hurt), Donovan Mitchell, Alec Burks, Rodney Hood, are all better than every player on the Lakers.

- Blake Griffin, Lou Williams, Austin Rivers, DeAndre Jordan, have been better than everyone on the Lakers team this year.

- You guys May have more talent than the suns, but again, Devin Booker is better than everyone on the Lakers team. TJ Warren is better than every player on the Lakers right now.

- I'll give you the kings, mavs, and grizzlies though. Not even the Grizzlies though, Marc Tyreke and Conley are far better than everyone on the Lakers right now.

But yeah, I just don't see this vast amount of talent that the Lakers have, that you're alluding to. Other than Kuzma and Randle, we aren't even sure if anyone else on the team is good yet. By any metric, just about every single player on the team is a below average player (Right now) and that to me is the issue, not walton's coaching.

I do think the Lakers have some intriguing pieces, but virtually none of them are good right now.

I don't even think Luke is doing that great of a job with the Lakers but to call for his firing right now is crazy. Who would be better coaching this team?

They are young, and they aren't good right now, it is what it is.

How can we buy our way into contention when the new CBA was designed to restrict us from doing that?? Just stop trying to act like a good guy around here and leave this board. It’s so annoying when other guys talk to us about our own team saying we don’t know ****...

That's a stretch.... unless that PG is Harden.

No
Any vet backup pg that can calm the team down and take them throu a tough stretch

Lonzo is going to be great, and is already awesome But relying on a rookie for 48 mins a game as the only floor general is a recipe for disaster

It was doomed from the start

Still could use the backup pg

I'd hate to break it to you, but there is no way in hell the Lakers make the playoffs this year.lol

No worries. If anyone wanted to know what non playoff team looks like it would be T'Wolves fan (4th longest streak going in the four major sports).

In all seriousness, if this board is going to participate in a manufactured rivarly, it doesn't make sense to do it with the least decorated franchise in the NBA.

We're starting two rookies, bear in mind, and a second-year player who still hasn't grown into ... adulthood, let's say. Hard to win right now with that lineup playing against grown-ass men.

That is completely false. There was Lakers fans (and many of them) everywhere I turned. Walking in the concourse, there was a ton. Even waiting at the doors waiting for them to open, Laker fans everywhere. A Wolves fan even said to me, "I think there's more of you guys than us here!" I was there back in 2013 for a game with Kobe and there was probably just as many as then.

My thoughts on the game:

- Awful start, no energy to start the game
- No one to create offence on this team, especially when Randle and/or Clarkson is off the court.
- Jimmy Butler is damn good
- Turnovers were a killer in the second half
- Lakers got the lead down to 6 late in the third quarter and then proceeded to have a line-up that included Nance, Blue, Caruso and Brewer (along with Clarkson). Take a wild guess what happened over the course of the next minute and a half? 19 point deficit. I turned to my girl when the line-up came on and I said, "Uh oh. This is gonna be bad." Exactly what happened.

EDIT: Oh, and Kuzma was awful. Defensively, energy wise, etc. Turned up the aggressiveness in the 3rd quarter, but his no show in the first half was probably the biggest reason for the awful start.

Not to discredit Randle there, but Towns that game...he got exposed from the following:

He could use an offseason with Randle's trainer, that's for sure.
