No.

Salaries don't match so the Knicks would have to add more.
Comparing player to player, O'Quinn is taller and a slightly bigger but Tucker is more versatile, a much better defender and better fits the way the Rockets like to play.

There's also the fact that Paul and Harden both recruited Tucker to Houston and he took less money to go there.
That doesn't make him untouchable by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a factor.

Not going to get a lot of support for this one.

No one is going to trade a wing for a pure center, unless the wing is bad or the center is really good. Not to mention the fact that the Rockets have 5 centers on the roster ATM and need wings

Knicks don't need P.J. Tucker when Lance Thomas is doing what he's suppose to be doing and Michael Beasley has been playing out of his goddamn mind since December.

O'Quinn is the wrong guy for this team. He doesn't run super fast, jump very high, doesn't shoot the three. He will most likely opt out after this season. He's not a roll man to pair with Harden/Paul. What O'Quinn is, however, is that he's good low post offensive presense, decent weak side help, good man to man post defender and one of the best high post passers there is in the NBA.

Now, despite it being somewhat inappropriate for me to petition Rockets fans to catch a Knicks game, allow me to rant a bit anyway. If you are nostalgic for some old school East Coast ball, the Knicks second unit are amazing at it. When O'Quinn is on, he's like a taller Chuck Hayes hitting cutters running off of flex cuts or power sets, left and right. McDermott and Beasley are averaging upwards of 67% off of O'Quinn feeds, in frigging half court sets.

McDermott would be an interesting fit for this team, except the Rockets are already stocked with shooters. He is one of the best at moving without the ball. He strokes the 3 at just a hair below 40 percent. His catch and shoots are pretty good, especially at the corners. He is pretty athletic, has decent springs and never stays at one spot. Lateral movement is definitely good for a 3, especially one that slimmed down from a 4. If the Rockets ever want to run some actions out of a modified princeton again, McBuckets is your guy.

But as of right now, the Rockets don't even want anything from the Knicks and the Knicks can't get what they want from you. The Knicks need a draft picks, someone to eat Noah's contract and find a way to either play Willy Hernangómez or trade him for a future first rounder. If they manage to continue to play competetively and reach the 8-10 seed on the East Coast, this season would be a resounding success.

That goal can't be further from what the Rockets are going for right now.

I'd like Kyle O'Quinn as a 3rd stringer, but nah, not for PJ.

is there an expiring 19mil contract out there? Rockets willing to give a 1st rd and 2nd rd pick plus Anderson for an expiring 19-20mil player...it can be a bad player too..

update: brooks lopez is expiring. rockets give up 2 1st rd picks and anderson for him. this gives them some considerable capspace this summer
