You're being equally gullible if you're buying this newfound dedication to fitness and re-shaping his body. Anybody who takes off the rose-colored glasses would see this for the contract year push that it is, but Jabari can apparently sweet-talk some of you into anything. Committing to Jabari has never been in the Bucks' best interests, now less than ever.

Would have been cool if he had lost all that weight before tearing his ACL twice.

That letter reeked of PR bull.
Jabari Parkers PR Agent wrote:It’s funny — I always think about this one day, pretty soon after I got here, when I took my car out for a drive around town. I pulled up to this spot … and I saw these olds guys, hanging out, sitting outside with their hot rods. I mean some real nice cars. And I parked my ride, I got out, and, man … we just got to talking. You’d look at us, and you’d probably be thinking that we have nothing in common — these old white guys, and then here I am, this young black ball player who’s bumpin’ rap music? No way. But it turned out we did. And it was just this really great day. I’ll still go back there, sometimes, and me and those guys, we’ll just catch up. I’ll ask them about cars. They’ll tell me stories about going to Bucks games in the ‘70s. It’s just very Milwaukee. We can talk about anything.

We have reporte that the reconstructed ACL wasn’t long enough. I wonder if the weight would have mattered.

The mocking comes in the person trying to make the point that his teammates resented him for it and that it literally affected their play in the playoffs. Not so much in the stuff you bring up (contracts, general PR BS, etc). I think most would remember me as a big one who doesn't put any stock in fluff pieces.

Never can understand the vitriol that CHL uses when he posts about Jabari

The letter would have been completely written off as a fluff piece and forgotten if the long winded meandering post guy wouldn't have tried to make it a huge character red flag for jabari.

CHL is also going full blown troll with that last post.

Jabari wasn't fat and musculature protects joints.

I completely agree with the first sentence quoted above. Jabari has unrealistic expectations as to his contract value based on what has leaked out. And some folks buy into the Jabari PR machine as the reason to sign him to a very large deal.

Completely disagree with the second sentence. I think the guy works his ass off, even before joining the Bucks. I go back to that Chad Ford piece on his pre-draft workout sessions. He's a gym rat and to come back from two ACL's like he has is an amazing feat both physically and mentally.

The mental aspect of a 2nd ACL in that short amount of time is the one thing I'm extremely concerned about. Physically he has age on his side. If he's looking for the max and he comes out and shines the rest of the year, you have to look to move him.

I think it's a bit misguided to say "Jabari has unrealistic expectations." Do we have any insight into what we offered him during extension talks if anything? Just because you say you want one thing doesn't mean you expect it or believe you're actually going to get it. That's negotiation, offers, counteroffers, and agents know what they're doing.

If you're starting a salary negotiation with your boss, are you just going to throw out the number you'll settle for right out of the gate or are you going to ask for a little bit more so they feel like they're meeting you half way?

Sadly, we are going to have to max Jabari at the max to keep him next summer. Some team will offer it to him, and the Bucks would be idiotic to not match. I wonder what they could have gotten him at a few months ago when they were negotiating?

I think it was wise to wait to see if he can play NBA basketball.

He's gone through this cycle of gaining weight and having to work his ass off to lose 3 times now since high school. The fact that he does work his ass off to lose it doesn't make it any less of a problem, and it's a concern that it always happens when he has something to gain. Haven't you ever known someone who can't keep the weight off? It's a very difficult problem. Was he a gym rat working his ass off the first time he tore his ACL? He had the whole summer off, and he showed up to training camp looking like this:

Don't worry, you are a day late and a dollar short, that criticism has already been repositioned into trying to get you to focus on why he used to weigh 250 lbs.

Quick, look over there, I'll keep yelling it until you forget.

Yeah, look at that fat ****. He just looks like a regular, elite athlete instead of a generational freak specimen like Giannis, Lebron, or Wilt Chamberlain.

Now lets be unbiased and look at multiple photos of him playing in games during the NBA season, you be the judge if he is fat

He’s as fat as LeBron... with more hair.

Looks less homeless than DeMarre Carroll.
