Whenever the Titans decide to move on from Mike Mularkey - possibly this year - if any of their candidates don't mention Derrick Henry within the first minute and a half of the interview I'd immediately kick them off the premises.

Ok. Not literally. But hopefully my point is made.

Mention him in what way?

If the Chiefs blow this game, are they going to move on from Alex?

Derrick Johnson is one of my favorite players of all time just made a great play, but it’s not going to stand. Darn it!

Actually Marcus Peters made the play and Derrick Johnson picked up the ball, which turned out wasn't a fumble.

If you’re an individual that dislike Marcus Mariota, you are a sociopath.

Andy Reid better let Alex go for self-preservation.

Alex has gotten 2 HCs fired.

Well done by the Titans for winning this game. They came back, realized to stick with the running game and Mariota was good! through the air(WRs finally catching the damn ball for him)

Sucks for KC, been rooting for them but losing Kelce really threw them off and that's not 100% excusable IMO. Didn't get the ground game going and Hill didn't have a solid game either....

Oh well.

How the hell do you pin this loss on Alex Smith?

Kelce got concussed.

Hill alone dropped 3 passes. Albert Wilson dropped a perfect pass that would have been a first down and taken them well into FG range on their final drive.

Did Alex Smith call Johnson’s FF forward progress instead?

Did Alex Smith play defense for the Chiefs?

I didn't necessarily pin this loss on him.

But it's definitely the case that he always disappoints.

First 6 games, KC looked like the class of the league. You can say there are other deficiencies on the Chiefs. But Alex definitely can't carry a team, make them better than their talent.

For comparison, Kap carried the 49ers to the SB. They wouldn't have gotten there with Alex. And those playoffs victories over the Packers, especially the one year they won at Green Bay and then at Carolina? Alex can't carry you to those wins.

Alex has had a pretty good career if you just look at his numbers and wins. But when he was the top pick of the draft, putting up slightly better than average numbers is a massive letdown.

Massive.

If Derrick Henry isn't the focal point of that offense going forward something is wrong. That way. Any candidate that doesn't have big ideas for Derrick Henry if they deem him fit for the responsibility would probably not be for me. That way.

BTW, Alex did have a chance to come back in that game. They were almost in FG range but on 4th and 9, he tried to force a seam or skinny post pass. That would have taken elite arm talent that he doesn't have.

But it was a poor read anyways, with two safeties back, that kind of pass wasn't going to work.

Uncharacteristic for captain check-down.

Bull. He dropped it in the bucket to Albert Wilson and he muffed it. Hit both his hands.

Read on Twitter

You'll need to watch it multiple times for it to maybe become clear. Wouldn't doubt if some people aren't sure about the comment but a lot of coaching types will probably feel the same way.

Captain checkdown shows you didn’t pay attention. He had his best season throwing deep this year. What did he do to you to create such a bias?

Revis did this twice. Henry’s TD run and that first down run. Pathetic.

Speaking of the deep passing. I haven't mentioned it all year but given my love for Norv Turner I would LOVE to sit down with him and go over Norv's comments from over a decade ago that he made in YEAR TWO of Alex's career talking about the potential he had to be a very productive downfield thrower with the right structure.

In just his 2nd season with Norv he had 34 passes that went for 20+ yards, the 2nd most in his 49ers career, in just his 2nd season. If you're new to 49ers football this probably won't seem like a big deal but given where he was at, at the time, Norv's comments were laughed at by the majority who saw them.

And for those not operating at a high level, "productive" and "willing" are two completely different things. Nobody needs to go there. Or should.

FYI: I STILL do realize and have seen the numbers of just how many of Alex's passes do get taken for big yardage but only travel 5-10 yards in the air. Both points are right.
