Each season takes on a body of its own, this year we are down several rotational players, not just Winlow. Truthfully Dragic is the only irreplaceable player in the rotation. That's why we can plug and play without Waiters, Winslow, JJ, Whiteside, etc. We could do the same with TJ or Richardson if they were to go out. It's a fairly meaningless stat

replacing winslow with a guy that can shoot makes us better, now winslow needs to just find a way to make plays and earn minutes.

Not enough of an indictment on him imo, we've been playing mainly under .500 teams in his absence and are 13-14 with him during the tougher portion of our schedule. Also got a 4th seed while playing him near 30 mins 2 seasons ago

Not sure about that. Winslow wasn't starting, the only player that's gotten more minutes in his absence is Mickey and I wouldn't exactly classify him as a shooter. Winslow just has to find ways to contribute when he gets back.

My opinion on Winslow is he has no place on this team any longer. Our power rotation is much better not having him at PF and Spo refuses to play him at SF. Rightfully so since he still struggles with both shooting and finishing. I do like his playmaking ability and his knack for making winning plays. I am hoping we can deal him for a similarly highly touted prospect who hasn't been able to break through yet at a different position. Preferably a young PG to develop behind Dragic. Ideally we deal him for someone like Mudiay.

Especially because he'll probably cost at least what J Rich did to resign, maybe even more.

Yeah this is a good point. Winslow was the epitome of winning in his rookie season, and it's not like it was particularly flukely or anything. Just great defense and good bball iq plays.

Hope he gets healthy and finds his role for this team. If FO decides they want to trade him, so be it - unless it's apart of a salary dump bullchit.

Roberson is pretty bad offensively (to put it generously) but he's statistically a DPOY level defender. I don't think Winslow's defense is in that kind of class while he's not that better offensively though way more skilled overall.

I have slick hope that maybe we can resign Winslow to a Jae Crowder type contract (35mil/5years (7mil per) at age of 24)? At this point 10+ mil per year seems overpay and we'll probably outbid ourselves for no good reason? He has the rest of this szn and next szn to prove his worth though.. I don't think it's a bad idea to keep him around and see what he can do on a rookie deal at all despite bishop45's desire to ship him away for frank kaminsky types.

As a resident Pelican board lieutenant I can tell you that Rapaz isn't in Pelifan land nor is ever welcomed.

Those two birds always had weird tension between em. It's probably a pelican/penguin thing.

don't know but i can tell you that those are two of the most difficult posters to deal with.

Rapaz has threatened me with a lawsuit when I stole his avi and you know how pelifan is too. smh

But yeah, I'd really like to see what he can do over these next couple seasons too. Feels like he's just been snake-bitten with some of these injuries the past couple seasons...otherwise he'd probably be more comfortable with his game by now.

He's eligible for a rookie extension this summer, right? Will be interesting to see what comes out of that...I bet Miami will try to get him on that Jae Crowder-type deal, but Winslow might be the type to bet on himself and try to get more money in restricted free agency.

Bish needs to hire Rapaz to put together a class action lawsuit for all the avi-theft you've committed
