Lavar Ball: Players don't want to play for Luke anymore

Post#1 » by Slava » Sun Jan 7, 2018 12:44 pm

"You can see they're not playing for Luke no more," LaVar said from the spa resort in Birstonas where he is staying while his two youngest sons get ready to make their professional debuts. "Luke doesn't have control of the team no more. They don't want to play for him."

"That's a good team," he added of the Lakers, who have lost nine straight games. "Nobody wants to play for him. I can see it. No high five's when they come out of the game. People don't know why they're in the game. He's too young. He's too young. ... He ain't connecting with them anymore. You can look at every player, he's not connecting with not one player."

"Lonzo looked good, but he also looked disgusted," LaVar said. "He was ready to play. Four minutes left in the first quarter, he dunked it, getting in a flow and coach sits him down. Sat him down. Now game goes from 4 points to 10 to 15 to 20. I don't know what they're doing. if he's ready to play, let him play. Don't try and monitor no minutes, put on restrictions."

"Even if you bring in a LeBron or a (Paul) George, he can't coach them guys," he said. "What is he gonna tell them? He's too young. He has no control."

I usually don't even read an article or quotes about Lavar, but I'm with him on this one.

Doesn't mean Luke is getting fired, but I do think there's an animosity between the coaching staff and certain players at least, maybe not all.

Also, how the **** does he manage to stir things up even from a town(Birstonas) of less than 3000 people?

Melo and Gelo will debut on Tuesday, nobody cares but I figured I get that **** out of the way.

Exactly LaVar. Can't believe I said that. And the exact same moment he mentioned was my gripe. Smh.

I'm sure his son loves that we are now wondering if he complained to his father. I'm sure all of the players are happy to hear that Lavar says the players should as be traded. I'm sure the coach is thrilled to be sniped from 3000 miles away. I'm sure the ownership team is happy with him causing more discord.

Did I miss anyone? I'm pretty sure he just burned everyone associated with the Lakers.

Lol, probably a year or two away from Lavar becoming GM.

That's right, basically that's what I've been saying since this ship sank. The truth hurts.

This isn’t Luke’s fault at all.

I’m putting all of the blame on Magic and Rob. They’ve stated numerous times they will obtain two max slots this summer. What does that mean? Only 3-5 current Lakers will be here next year. Throw in the cancer attitudes of Randle and Clarkson plus losing and things won’t look pretty.

Didn’t Magic and Rob tell Lavar to shut up about the coaching staff? I mean obviously he won’t but still.. don’t add fuel to the fire Lavar. I rather have Walton than any ole available coach right now, and that includes Fizdale.

This is a head scratcher. His goal is to have all of his sons play for the Lakers yet he continues to bash members of the organization.

To be clear, management certainly has something to do with it as well. I’ve stated that many times. However, Bogut, Randle situation, the offence completely falling apart without a 20 year old rookie, Brewer playing significant minutes, that’s all on Luke.

Lavar should STFU, not undermine his son's coach, not put doubt in Lonzo about his coach.

How many rings does Lavar have? Luke?

Bill Walton, John Wooden, Phil Jackson, Steve Kerr...

Luke's pinky knows basketball better than Lavar ever will.

STFU.

This statement is especially stupid. Lavar Ball is saying that he knows more than medical professionals.

I've said before he should be fined for some of his rotations... he is young and inexperienced, but he is still our longterm guy. Need to get rid of some players and we can go from there.

I don't mind Lavar talking like this...everybody needs accountability, even our head coach of the present and future.

There are few things more offputting than a completely controlling helicopter parent. One of them would be when the kid is 20 and they're still doing it. Let go, Lavar. Your part is done. Let the pros take it from here.

Lakers don't need this kind of negativity right now.

So the front office thought Lavar was disruptive enough to ask him to basically STFU about the coaching, yet he continues to criticize not giving any care for what was asked of him....

Curious how Magic/Rob react or if they just accept that Lavar will continue to say things they wish he wouldn’t.

It will be comical when the Lakers put the middle son somewhere in the organization next year to appease Lavar.

“You can’t give my son the best player in the league, and don’t expect them not to win,” LaVar said. “Get rid of everybody. Give him LeBron and [LiAngelo]. You got a two and a three. And it’s a win. It’s a wrap. Then all you need are two rebounders – [Julius] Randle and [Larry] Nance Jr.”

I have more of a problem with this quote... where is Kuz and BI dude?
