Remember celebrity boxing? I'd pay McGregor versus Mayweather prices to see Walton and Ball square off.

More yappin' from the outside. I hate to say this but I saw this coming. Lavar, Magic and the Lakers prominence are not a good mix. A lot of our issues have started with these two and their mouths.

I do agree with some of what Lavar is saying. I disagree to the fullest extent in him saying this to ESPN however. This will end with Luke either being fired or not coming back next year IMHO. Question is..... what reputable coach steps into the breach with this situation? What good FA comes here with this situation developing?

I don't think Luke is who the FO wants.... maybe this gives them cover to some extent. Now if Luke is not here next year it will be just like Magic's first 2 seasons in the NBA....

Lavar literally won't rest until he coaches the Lakers and gets all 3 of his sons on the team.

For the people who agree with him (rightly or wrongly), if they fire Luke, he's just gonna start saying the same thing about the next coach.

Pretty much, dude has a plan and he's gonna follow it til the bitter end, and sadly may end his sons career prematurely the process. Clowns gonna clown

Regardless if Lavar is right or wrong he’s becoming a detriment to the team. If I’m the Lakers I’d seriously consider trading his son. Even if they do make a change at coach how long will it be before Lavar is undermining the next coach?

Doesn't that put Lonzo in a pretty **** situation? If I was his teammate I would think he is snitching about the locker room and would be careful about what I say next to him. And now he is kinda forced to choose between his coach or putting his father in his place.

Time to trade Lonzo.. Get rid of the headaches and disruption and move on. This will never get better or go away, there will never be change that shuts Lavar up and his son will probably never be the player Lavar thinks he is...

Lavar needs to keep it “in house” but I do feel Luke has lost the “respect” of the team with his bull rotations... Vets have been good about it but the young bucks aren’t happy... We can’t get spanked by 37 at home to our #1 offseason target (LBJ ain’t coming) & expect him to be fired up...

Lavar knows as much as anybody on this forum.

It's a hot take and nothing more. I've made the same observations of the players and criticisms of Luke. Doesn't make it a fact.

Luke will figure it out. He has another season before he's on the hot seat.

We can't do much about Lavar. It's who he is, and the media will always give him a platform. Ignore him.

if Luke loses his job because of Lonzo's daddy trashing him in the media what self respecting coach would ever want the job. I think Luke has been dealt a pretty crappy hand this season with it being common knowledge the team is focusing on next years free agents and putting together a team this year of very young starters and veteran players they have no interest in keeping around.

Right... and when Lonzo gets hurt because he hasn't played in two weeks it's Luke's fault too.

Lavar you know nothing about playing in the best league in the world, your son does bro. Your public outbursts are played out already. Lavar you don't have the patience to develop NBA players or a winning NBA team. Let the pro's handle it. I hate to compare them because we're just talking basketball which is nothing more than entertainment at the end of the day, but he's reminding me of a certain somebody in office with these poorly thought out outbursts.

People said Lavar would just shut up after his son was drafted. He aint playin he trying to take over the Lakers. Next coach after Luke will be a Lavar sycophant you watch.

The problem with Alonzo is he still allows himself to be treated like a kid. Until he checks his dad Lavar is going to be a thorn in the Lakers side regardless of who the coach is.

I’m pretty sure these adult players can differentiate between Lonzo and his crazy father for those concerned about Lonzo’s relationship with his teammates.

No doubt the front office is concerned about Lavar’s comments, but don’t think there’s need to stretch that concern to Lonzo himself.

Hell nah! These dudes saying they need to trade Lonzo is jealous they don't have him on their team. Get that **** outta here. They knew damn well what they were getting when they drafted him.

PS There needs to be a conversation on Walton... if it takes Lavar to start... so be it. Accountability...

Lavar wants his kids all on the Lakers... that much it a given. Why he wants them there is where I see an issue. It seems he's focusing on how much money he can make off branding them over what it actually means for them. Shut up and let your kids grow up and decide if they want to be part of your vision/business.

This has the undertones of Joe Jackson and his kids.....

TyCobb wrote:I've said before he should be fined for some of his rotations... he is young and inexperienced, but he is still our longterm guy. Need to get rid of some players and we can go from there.

I don't mind Lavar talking like this...everybody needs accountability, even our head coach of the present and future.

He's exercising his right as an American citizen to speak. No matter if you disagree with him or not. In regarding the comments. It's not without merit.

Getting blown out by Grizzlies and losing to a poor Charlotte team at home is a cause of concern. Doesn't help that Magic and Rob stated basically that some player's aren't going to be here next year either. Never heard a GM say that before the start of the season.

TyCobb wrote:“You can’t give my son the best player in the league, and don’t expect them not to win,” LaVar said. “Get rid of everybody. Give him LeBron and [LiAngelo]. You got a two and a three. And it’s a win. It’s a wrap. Then all you need are two rebounders – [Julius] Randle and [Larry] Nance Jr.”

I have more of a problem with this quote... where is Kuz and BI dude?

That quote is way worse than any others. Get rid of everybody? We are bad enough as it is.
