He looks incredible to me. That combination of body control, size, and explosion is just absurd.

Zion is also a raging bull. His compete level is absurd. Which worries me a bit about longevity. But his mentality is what could make him great too.

Is everyone so set on him being a PF? He's undersized for the spot, he's bulky but the appeal is that he moves extremely well considering, like a lean, explosive wing, some of his better skill-set abilities are handling and passing.

He's obviously going to be able to play PF depending on lineups but I still can't help but feel his highest potential lies in cutting some of the baby fat (if even necessary) and playing the 3. The only issue is he's going to need to develop a semi capable spot up shot to keep the defense honest.

I know the plan is playing him at sf if he goes to Kentucky and surrounding him with shooting. I don't know what everyone elses plans

Could he be a draymond? What's his wing span? How’s his Defense? 3 shooting, etc

Shot and passing would need to take gigantic leaps but he should be a better finisher and more creative ballhandler IMO. Definitely has the tools for that type of defensive ceiling IMO.

You've gotta be concerned about him being 6'5 270, having knee issues and not being a shooter. I want him to be a superstar but he's got some red flags. Really hope the knee/weight stuff is overblown.

A lot of DEs are his size and they are some of the most athletic dudes in football. Yeah I know you do way more jumping in bball but I think he'll be fine.

Is Zion 6'5? I thought he was 6'7. Definitely does not look 6'5.

They are, but you want your wing players to be cornerback on D than DE

If you want him guarding wide receivers(premier perimeter athletes), you don’t want that much bulk, it creates some stiffness in lateral movement, even if they are vertically and linearly explosive.

Most likely 6'6 in shoes. His downside is his relative short wingspan and previous knee injury.

An even more athletic Larry Johnson (pre-injury Hornets' version).

Yup I'm hearing it's down to Clemson and UK with Clemson looking like the favorites. Still holding out hope this turns into a Kevin Knox type situation and he shocks everyone and chooses a team that most didn't think had a chance. Come on Duke haha.

With that said, I get the appeal of being big dog on campus, it worked well for Simmons, Fultz and Young right now. I think it would be a mistake for Zion. I don't think he has the skills to really shine being the only legit star player, especially in the ACC. The dude is super raw still, I think would do better in a place surrounded by more talent and a place they could hide his flaws more. If it's down to Clemson and UK, I think UK would be there smarter choice. I don't think his flaws would get as exposed.

Not sure if Clemson is the best spot considering the roster, he might play the 3 at times, Reed is a good shooter and Mitchell is okay-ish but they might start him next to David Skara and Elijah Thomas on the frontcourt, Skara might be able to shoot some, but Thomas doesn't and all of them are sort of PFs

Mitchell
Reed
Skara
Williamson
Thomas

Would be my guess for the starting lineup unless they get some grad transfers or some other recruit follows Zion

Honestly the best fit for him is UNC, pristine spacing around him, the team is built to run and they would have veteran Guards, it should be a no brainer.

Saw his latest game highlights via Frankie Visions' YT.

Still looks like a SF to me that could do with cutting the baby fat and improving his shot.

His speed, athleticism and body control are otherworldly for a guy of his build, but this observation is nothing new.
