At some point the Lonzo has to tell his dad publicly to pipe down. Why does he get a free pass for blind loyalty?

Seemed like standard Zo replies to me. I think Walton and Lonzo have a great relationship. What needs to happen is getting the cancers off the team that aren't buying in.

Lonzo is literally the least interesting interview ever, idk why media even bothers. He's the master of coachspeak and saying nothing.

I have more of a problem with this quote... where is Kuz and BI dude?

That quote is way worse than any others. Get rid of everybody? We are bad enough as it is.

Sounds like he’s lobbying to get Brandon Ingram traded.

He had a chance to have the coach's back and he promptly didn't. That tells something.

Or his teammates are happy because Luke has in fact lost the team and players aren't allowed to say anything. So Lavar is doing the dirty work. Only the players know the real situation, we're all just speculating. But it's easy to see something has changed with the players attitudes.

Listen again... "I don't think so, he's the head coach we're gonna play for him". He just plays basketball... if he acknowledged all the outside noise, and there is a lot of it, he'd go insane.

In addition to the questions about Lavar’s comments, they specifically asked him if he liked playing for luke, enjoyed him as a coach. He had a chance to dictate the narrative outside of his dad’s comments, to provide his own voice.

That he chose to give such an unsupportive answer, basically not answering the question at all, is eyebrow raising at the minimum.

Seemed like he chose to deflect the nonsense again... and say all he is focused about is playing basketball. He's pretty much like a robot...sure saying Walton is his guy would have been all cute and sentimental... but he chose to stay focused on his job and that's worrying about playing basketball and things he can control.

I think Luke's job is pretty safe for the rest of the year. If we hit big in free agency I think he gets fired for a more veteran coach. If we miss on free agency, I think he stays and rides the tank till we get some better players.

I watched Nets game sometimes cuz of D'lo and their coaching staff is miles and miles ahead of ours. Everything from the system they run to player development. Their coaching staff made Lopez into a top 5-10 center. Our coaching staff makes him look like a bonafied scrub. You got KCP thinking he's Kobe and jacking up contested 3s off screens and in transition 1 on 5. You got him trying to throw the ball of the backboard to himself but completely missing and hitting the 24 shot clock for gods sake.

There's just so much crap that's been happening that I don't blame our young players for getting frustrated. There's no structure, players don't have specific roles. You got Caruso playing one half, then Ennis playing the other half. You got Julius coming in at the 8 minute mark of he second then not playing the rest of the game. Same with Larry. It's just a free for all. Luke is just in over his head and has no clue what he's doing. I remember with Phil he's always maximize everyone's skill set. No matter how garbage the player was, he'd find a role for them and put them in a position to succeed. Luke is the exact opposite.

Lopez looked good because there was no one else to score on the team last year. Might I add, he was playing in the East.

Luke is safe and will be safe until we land an actual talented roster and give him a year with it.

Complain all you want LaVar, Luke is going to be there when all of your kids enter the league...

If you don’t like Luke, please take LiAngelo’s “talents” somewhere else.

I still want LaMelo on this squad doe...lol

It's funny....we're looking at Luke and seeing much the same thing, only I come to an opposite conclusion. I think Luke would be much better served to coach at team of veterans. If we were to trade several of our young guys, and bring in PG, and Lebron and a couple vets-min guys....I think Luke would be much better. If we don't sign anyone...then I think we need to go get a coach who can start developing these guys...cause so far I don't see Luke doing that.

Back when we were looking to sign Luke...I always said we should get Mark Jackson. I always thought he dealt with developing the Warriors great. Their (quote-unquote) 'great defense' (I've always felt GS were a 'good' defensive team at best, but whatever) jad Jackson's stamp all over it. I think the Warriors did it 100% there....Jackson developed them, gave them their identity, and took them about as far as he was gonna. They then went and got a coach to tweak, to be lenient, to be that "players coach" type, and bring the best out of them. A guy who basically steers the car.

I think Luke would have been a better fit to coach this team after about 3-4 years of a guy like Jackson whipping them into shape. I think the players would have been better for it as well

Lamelo is a fringe NBA level talent, LiAngelo is a europe level talent. They are not going to be Lakers.
