Look up Brock Pierce. I think it's good to learn about the block chain technology first before getting into anything with the coins.

Check out kucoin. If you sign up, want to use my referral? :D

Might have to, I still want to get more comfortable with exchange rates before really diving in. So many decimal points...

Sounds good. Just quote me whenever you want it, and I'll send a PM.

Yay! Once you're sure what you want to get, invest in some coin and then go on an exchange (or more, if you'd like) and profit!

Those are all solid picks if you ask me. If you're real gambler consider looking into the small caps and icos...bigger risks but also bigger rewards. Ill use VIBE as an example. It's gone 40x from the ico price with plenty room to grow...

Invested a couple of hundred in Etherum and Litecoin. Send some coin over to Kucoin and brought Kucoin Shares.

I'll wait a couple of weeks and invest some more

After seeing the Doge Coin rise, I'm waiting for someone to create a Westeros Coin. Maybe down the line there will be a RealGM Coin.

Man this transfer is taking long. Coinbase confirmed the transfer. I'm wondering if I did something wrong because its still not in kucoin account.

So when transferring from Coinbase, must you transfer coins to the same coins on the exchange or can you transfer coins to another coin.

Ex: I transferred Etherum to Kucoin in a Kucoin Shares (Alt Coin) wallet and not the Etherum wallet

Is this correct, or did I just lose my

Need to transfer coin to coin. So, ETH to ETH, BTC to BTC, etc. If you want to get KCS (which I have some of, actually), you should do ETH to ETH and then use the ETH to buy the KCS.

ALTHOUGH, my first transfer I accidentally transferred to some other coin and it still showed up in my ETH wallet - just took a little longer and made me super antsy.

My ETH is still tied up in coin base but I was able to buy a little more btc today and transfer to kucoin where I picked up some DENT.
Wish I had more to play with, but wanted to get some while it dipped slightly.

Question, what does everyone use as a wallet?
Wanted to buy a ledger nano s but they are back ordered on the ledger site til 3/20 and I don't know/trust random sellers on Amazon.

Anyone know how to get one before March? What about the Trezor? Anything else to look for? Appreciate any insight.

you're probably lucky coinbase held your ether for you so you could hold these ETH gainz

I use the exodus wallet for my Ether BTC and LTC.
Also using NAVpay and NAV Core wallet to start running proof of stake since that guy up there shilled me on it. Nice comfortable coin.

coinbase protip
make a gdax account(coinbase's exchange), deposit the coins to gdax from your CB account (free) and then transfer them wherever you want from gdax. The transfer will be free this way. If you are transferring from CB you are paying a fee and wasting money

SUMMARY:

1. VIBEhub is a Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality crypto that records artist and educators in "Volumetric Holograms" (holoporation)

2. After capturing these "holograms" VIBEhub brings them into their own custom VR environments

3. VIBEhub has partnered with a major tech-company "Monster" (Beats by Dre) and will be moving into their offices in January.

4. A major technology event called C.E.S has a dedicated VR/AR tech day that's upcoming and VIBEHub will be displayed in Monster's booth. (January 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada)

5. VIBEHub's platform will be available for download on the Occulus platform - where you can watch VIBEHubs first volumetric performance with hip hop artist Planet Asia (see video at beginning or on Vibehubs Twitter)

6. They will be in Monsters Superbowl commercial (100 million + Views) in February

I can give you the basics of entering the market. You're better off using google to find out more about what cryptocurrency/block chain technology actually is and why it's blowing up. Bitcoin is definitely not the only one blowing up

There are 2 major cryptocurrencies at the moment in bitcoin and ethereum. You can buy these two currencies with your USDs via exchanges. For example there is coinbase, which was recommended in this topic. There's also gdax, like robillionaire stated, which is owned by coinbase and has lower fees but requires SSN which you might not be comfortable with.

Aside from the major currencies are altcoins. To buy various alt coins you go on other exchanges such as Binance and use your bitcoins or ethereum to buy alt coins.

Another way to get coins is to mine them with a computer. I don't think you can do this with any old computer effectively. Most miners obtain mining computers with specialized components like stronger graphics cards and whatnot to mine coins. Mining coins also uses a decent chunk of energy. Not sure if mining is as lucrative as it once was. If you're like many new yorkers who dont pay for electricity /have a fixed rate then it might be worth it for you.

You also can store your currencies in a "wallet" which is either on your computer or an actual piece of hardware (which protects you from hackers)

Reddit or other sites probably has in depth guides which you should definitely check out before you get serious about this.
