Poll: Magician most likely to be traded ?

Post#1 » by drsd » Mon Jan 8, 2018 1:31 pm

With all the news and subsequent editorials on forthcoming changes, it might be interesting to project a likely future.

This poll question is "What Magician is most likely to be traded." It is not "whom do I want to go." (A question Biyombo is likely to receive 50%+ of the votes for with further strong support for Payton and Vučević).
When choosing, consider opponent team needs, current Magic salary and contract length, and ability/interest to be removed.
(( Augustin / Mack lumped together because of poll limit )).

Evan and Mario could be an intriguing package for someone. Despite the hate, Evan is productive. Mario shows flashes when given time and comes with no commitment concerns. If a team trades for him, shows him some playing time and he performs they should be able to resign him easily at a bargain. That alone has value.

No doubt Mario being he is unrestricted and they would lose him for nothing. He will be traded. Other than that, Elf is a close 2nd depending on contract negotiations. Because, if he is insisting on being paid top 10 starters money, then he has to go.

Strap in for disappointment.I think they will be kept cause of lowballing offers.Maybe Fournier will find new home cause he is servicable but we will get a bunch of nothing in return imo.

Hopefully if we make a trade it's a package deal for a significant upgrade.. tired of burning assets on lesser players.

whoever gets traded have a feeling we're asking for picks or a player whose not happy/needs minutes/ new scenery kinda like Hezonja deal.

Keep looking at Noel or Hill as possibilities. We hopefully will start to hear some rumors as we're exactly 1 month away from deadline.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Lol at top 10 center but I’ll choose Fournier. Moving a big deal like that isn’t easy but I think it’s most likely due to Vuc’s injury.

Magic will probably look to dump salary.

I doubt they can move Biz and get anything good back, so he's here for a while.

Vuc and Evan equate to around 29-30 million in salary if they get expiring and draft picks back. It would be a good tank/rebuild move to do that. This offseason is a real good one for role players and we saw that Hammond is good at signing guys like that to inexpensive, short term deals. A great draft pick plus some more Simmons-like signings and the team will be in a much better place moving forward.

Teams are targeting the availability of Brooklyn’s DeMarre Carroll, Utah’s Alec Burks, Orlando’s Evan Fournier and Atlanta’s Kent Bazemore, among others.

Hopefully he fetches more in a trade then those other three guys or else we might as well keep him.

Hmm, a top 10 center + a top 20 PG + a top 15 SG + Aaron Gordon should make us a much better team.

Something's not adding up..

If we get a matching expiring and a 1st,
take that 1st, plus Vuc or Biz and send it to LAC for D. Jordan's expiring.
We'd clear Evan's 17M, Plus Jordan's 24M.
Be under the Cap, have top 3 pick, still have AG.

imo dumb and dumber duo wants flexibility so they basicly have to clear some capspace

Biz is untradeable
Ross is injured and I dont think he has a lot of value anyway
MH has no value after we declined his option
AG is basicly untouchable
Payton also propably very lil value as he doesnt fit todays NBA and any team taking him basicly needs to decide if to re sign him or not thats taking a really big finanacial problem imo so it diminish any value he has
Vuc is good but very few team needs this type of center or center at all
look at the poor Knicks they got like 5 centers and cant even find pt for Noah and young WIlly
seems like teams are overfed with centers as this position is extinct but theres still too many specimen of that sort so rarely anybody needs center
so the obvious choice is Fournier he has the most value thats why I voted for him
but still teams rather look for a cheap improvement they deduct as much as we all deduct...they know we need/want to dump salary so we wont get much and they will lowball us with the offers the only question is if our gms budge or not
if they feel they need that capspace you will see something like expiring in return or expiring + some scrub who will be sold as a future MJ project to us

on other words we became what we fear we would become
we are a team that is developing players for other teams a farm team
Harris Dipo and soon Fournier will join that list and MH to a lesser extent EP can soon follow that (that would mean 4 years of pt wasted developing PG spot)

I voted Fournier. I have to believe the new front office is coming to the realization that the best path forward involves seizing the opportunity to draft one of this year's top prospects. With Vucevic out injured at the moment, dealing Fournier is probably the move that ensures we pick near the top of the draft. He should be attractive to any teams looking for more shooting from the wing and he should net us some sort of asset in return.
