There you have it... past that - there is no real discussion. Us vs. them (the evil racists). This is tribalism.

Is there a particular reason you are resolute in your belief that Republicans aren't racist?

you dont even realize that it is YOU that is the divisive person in this thread. The 2-3 other semi-divisive posters are nowhere near as bad as you. well besides PointGod. Wizardspride is at least semi-reasonable in his positions.

And that's David Patterson that she's paying attention to in the picture. Soros is on the other end of the picture. But in your mind, you probably think it's good-natured fun when you do it, while it's hatred when others to it your guy. Your brain doesn't function in a manner that's conducive to constructive discussion. And if there's any doubt about this, I'm talking about you - and nobody else.

Boom! Feinstein releases the testimony on the Russia dossier, if it wasn’t obvious already, the Republicans launched a first-strike in-advance of this release in an attempt to keep the discrediting operation going, but the narrative is blown. Fusion GPS was alerted by a Trump insider, “rogue” FBI agents had nothing to do with it, oops!

And like clockwork we have incontrovertible evidence of honorable statesmanly #NeverTrump Republicans carrying water for Overlord Trump and suppressing information in the Russia investigation. I'm sure this is all fine and good as we rapidly descend into fascism. Tribalism!

Here's the thing, I sort of agree with your take, but there's a catch. This whole evil racists thing is basically being co-opted for the purposes of creating tribalism. As the message that racism will no longer be tolerated gets pushed increasingly further (as it should), the reality that racism isn't actually a yes/no question becomes easier to exploit.

I mean, think of it logically here. The argument is that people make all sorts of (wrong) assumptions based on immediately identifiable traits, such as skin color, gender, etc. and that biases are born out even more through other means as social norms and levels of comfort tend to reinforce those existing biases. On one hand, you have a side that suggests that we really do need to look at the systemic discrimination and racism (or sexism or whatever) and on the other side we have a side that essentially shuts down whenever they're labeled intolerant in some way, shape or form, as though intolerance, be it racism or something else, is a yes/no question and clearly they fall into the no category.

In the end, you're right, it's tribalism, but the cause of that tribalism isn't quite from the place you imply, and the responsibility for the solution is much, much farther from your implications in your posts.

You make good points here. And I am not defending those that don't want to address the systematic racism that is built into society.

This thread started with a notion that if you don't vote for Ds, then you are enabling racists (an essential attach on independents - very much like the Rs did with abortion). My point is that it is more nuanced than that and I reject that argument.

I pointed out that non-sustainable government is also systematically discriminatory. I could make the same illogic here. If you vote for Ds who are spendthrift you are racist. It is an equally illogical argument. I would add to the illogic with - Bernie Sanders was a democratic candidate that would spend us into oblivion which would hit hardest those with the least resources. He is therefore racist. And all that vote D are racist.

I pointed out that not all Rs are racist but might vote for Rs for other reasons (I think I cited abortion).

Now, if you are a dreamer - and you vote for the Ds for that single issue, it is totally understandable. But what about those that don't believe in Birthright Citizenship? They might be pushed immediately to the Rs if that is their issue. Does that make them racist - hardly. But that is how they are cast...

So let me get this straight. Grassley is basically saying:

"I refuse to release this information to the public because it might harm the investigation but I'd be thrilled to have the witness publicly repeat this exact same information in a public hearing.

Additionally, working with my colleagues is extremely important which is why I wrote a letter to the FBI recommending criminal prosecution of the person who reported treasonous conduct without telling any Democrats."

Wow, cool story. Again, let's not jump to any conclusions about those Republicans. We need to sit down and dig deep for the good ones out there! Many sides, folks!

So that picture tells us that Opra wants to take away our rights from the 4th Amendment of the Bill of Rights. Got it. And thanks so much for that warning. I was just about to vote for her. Disaster averted, right? :eek1:

Let's see... what party is Susan Sarandon running under?

It's all a part of resist resist resist. But what the posters here don't realize is that the impeachment pathway has come to a grinding halt. This President will be here for 7 more years.

The "leaders" of the (piece De) resistance don't realize is their "leaders" are now working on bipartisan DACA and immigration reform right now. Yeah, so much for the resistance.

Meanwhile Trump is showing genuine and true Workman like leadership in the white house today. Wow.

Get on the Trump train or get left at the station.

So to clear this up you can't judge the Republican party based on the actions of a few Repulicans but conspiracy theories and propaganda about the DNC and Hillary Clinton means the whole Democratic party is corrupt. :dontknow:

Crazy concept. Just throwing this out there. But what if we are all on the same team? Imagine that for a second.

Good to see Senator Feinstein wasting time on this Russia nonsense, and completely ignoring her constituents in California.

Good job, Senator. That's why you're being primaried (and ultimately replaced).

Perhaps this isn't nonsense to her constituents.

Just something to consider....

(Edit: If you're one of her constituents, my fault)

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.
