Haha, something is going to give. The Brewers aren't going ton continue to play .300 ball, and the Cubs aren't going to continue to play .700 ball. It is going to be a close race.

It's Aug 1st and there are 54 games left in the season.

I'm not worried yet even if the Cubs take over first. This much we know; it's going to be a close race all the way to the end and both teams will go hot and cold. I can easily see the lead changing a handful of times down the stretch.

This looks to be a very close race during the last two months of the season. I'm just glad my team (the Cubs) actually have been able to get back into things and make it entertaining.

I also know that I am glad that my team is in a division race against another team that I really do like and have a lot of respect for, the Brewers of course.

I really do prefer this over facing a team like the Cardinals, Astros, or Reds.

I don't see why so many think that if the Cubs take the lead that we have ne chance to retake them. Like someone else said, I can easily see the lead changing back and forth quite a few times down the stretch.

50+ games of pure entertainment coming, guys. I look forward to it.

34-40 since the 24-10 start. So for 46% of the season we've won 46% of our games.

Not worried yet...not worried. I won't freak out until two weeks are left in the season.

Then I'll begin to freak out.

Now the fun begins, a playoff race between the cubs and the brewers and it should be close the rest of the way. Once our team settles down. (linebrick comes back)

The main question is, do you see this team as a .460 winning percentage team overall? Would you be willing to bet we don't better that percentage in the remaining games?

Even very good teams can play .500 ball -- or a little lower -- for very long periods of time during a season. What is important now is how we play the remaining games. Our first 34 games and our last 74 games are over.

The Cubs aren't going to play .720 baseball the rest of the year and I'm pretty positive we won't play .460.

you can take any number of games and make it sounds great or horrible. yes, 46% for 46% sounds bad....but 54% or whatever we're at for the 108 games to this point would be a more accurate prediction of how the season will end

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, and it ties into the race: which is worse for you? Losing a series at home, or another one on the road?

It's kind of expected on the road, and it sucks because you know they've got to get it together to do anything this fall.

But at home, you know they've got to be really great to make up for that raggedy road record. And so many guys on the team play better at home that the team has to be in a pretty big all-around slump to blow 2 out of 3.

I still say it's worse on the road, some of those games and series are just more demoralizing.

Home no question. I expect this team to win every series at home but then they have series like San Francisco and New York that just piss me off.
