Agree on Pace and his convictions. That said, if I recall correctly Rams had a lot of needs and DT wasn't one of them so Donald was definitely a BPA pick. Not saying Emery didn't mess up, but remember being surprised when Rams took Donald.

Regardless it's going to be a fun offseason.

If Pace made that pick it would have been labeled genius. Just saying.

Interesting tidbits:

Flip bombed the interview, Pace made the decision and McDaniels was extremely impressive.

Great The Atlantic Article on Nagy

So simply put, I love the hire by the Bears. Am I biased? Sure, but I am typically tough on coaches. I know what the good ones look like. I worked for Andy, covered Jim Harbaugh and now I cover Kyle Shanahan. I’ve seen terrible head coaches like Jim Tomsula and Dennis Allen, and fraudulent front-runners like Jack Del Rio.

Matt Nagy is wired like the good ones I’ve been around. He honestly reminds me of a happier Kyle Shanahan.

Don't know how true this is, and I highly doubt Ballard is going around telling everyone who he thinks is his number 1 option, but the Bears might have poached Indy's HC #1.

Source tells me the Indianapolis Colts were all in on hiring Matt Nagy. Uncertainty on health of Andrew Luck vs Mitchell Trubisky + Nagy’s belief the Bears roster is much better made decision for him. “Pace landed him by convincing him sunny days are ahead for the Bears.”

If true the Andrew Luck situation might be worse than thought within league circles. It doesn't sound like Mcdaniels would have passed, although in their minds they believe they were Mcdaniels' 2nd option. Any coach hired to the Colts has no idea when Luck is coming back, and what that throwing arm is gonna look like. Its a huge risk going to them.

Nagy has facial hair so it's when, not if the Bears will be winning a Superbowl.

I'll say this, the energy Nagy gives off is uplifting. He seems highly motivated.

Pace and Nagy seem to be BFFs right now.

Like his enthusiasm and think it's the real deal. He seems to have some substance to him.

It's a difference from Trestman and fox.

Plus he didn't have any goofy blunders.

I'm happy and hope the media is fair to this guy.

It makes sense though given the Kansas City connection between Ballard and Nagy. Maybe Toub gets the job because of it. It sounds like Nagy is just as high on Trubisky as Pace is, which is a great start.

Ryan Pace not only took the Bears position from Ballard, but also just stole his #1 coaching candidate.

Keep that defensive staff together!

Next up, let's find an elite ST coach. It's been TERRIBLE since Toub left.
