I didn't hate this as a working base:ChuckDurn wrote:If Fultz did show out to be healthy before the end of this year, I'd consider something like Klay for Fultz + Holmes + Bayless (salary purposes) + picks, as follows:
- If Lakers' 2018 pick is conveyed to Philadelphia and is between 6-10, Warriors get the pick
- If Lakers' 2018 pick is not conveyed to Philadelphia in the 6-10 range, Warriors get Philadelphia's 2018 #1 (probably in the 12-16 range), plus the opportunity to do a pick swap in 2019 with Sacramento's 2019 pick. (This will get us a mid-round pick in 2018, as well as allowing the Warriors to probably move up to a top-10 pick in 2019.)
Would take that if we got Bell back as well. Or if you just get rid of the swap or Holmes.
That deal sucks major ass. Fultz, has shown absolutely fcuk all as a pro right now, so even if he were healthy, he could still end up as either a starter or major bust in the very near future. Nothing about that kid says "star" player, so you value him accordingly right now, which is young potential, and not exactly a win now player that we would want. There is actually serious potential for young Fultz to be a below average high draft pick, as he isn't a beast athlete and his shot mechanics are flawed. Add in that he plays the same position as Steph, and he doesn't really look like a floor spacing guard with that fugly jumper, and he is coming over as a backup, that MIGHT play some minutes for us down the line. Holmes/Bayless/picks, mean nothing to us if we are losing Klay and this is marketed as the rest of the return we get for Klay Thompson. The fans would literally riot at this seriously putrid return for our all-time, multiple all star NBA champion SG that will go down in history as one of the best shooters that ever graced the court. We sucked major balls for 30 years, so players like Klay haven't exactly fallen into our laps often, and his jersey will be raised into our rafters one day, so if we are losing Klay, the Warriors will be demanding WAY more in return than this package.
Chuckdurn needs to chuck an almighty uppercut into his own nose for even suggesting such a ridiculous trade. Chuckdurn's proposal made me upchuck in my mouth. You like this deal, because you're making out like a bandit for Philly, but in reality, we demand a massive amount more for Klay and would look to another team to deal with.
