Re: 3rd Annual Fire Kidd Thread - Volume 2
Well shoot, the player I want cut the most would leave if the coach I want gone is fired. Darn.
I'd honestly rather have Terry than Kidd as coach though. I wish they'd have asked him that, what if they fired coach and made you head coach, would you still leave out of loyalty? I of course do not 'want' Terry as HC right now, but I'd do it over Kidd.

I never understand why they ask players about this stuff. If he said anything other than that he stood with the coaching staff I'd be disappointed, regardless of my feelings on said coaching staff. It's just basic professionalism.

meh, id prefer he came out and said its a mess and kidd should be canned.
its one thing if anyone else on the roster says that stuff, but 40 year old jason terry can, because he has nothing in front of him as a player, and i dont think it affects his coaching prospects, in fact, i think its the opposite around the league.

Ha. I bet the coaches union would love one future coach bashing another.

You know this would never happen and I'd honestly lose a lot of respect for Jason Terry if it did.

we know with a fair amount of certainty hes responsible for vaughn being picked, and i actually dont even dislike vaughn as a player. i dislike the way hes been handled. we are talking about a guy that played more minutes at 19yo in his rookie year, than any other year in his career. on top of that, we never provided him any consistent role in either the dleague/gleague, or in the nba.
i also believe that he finds some success elsewhere as a rotation guard.
You never responded to my challenge to supply evidence on the likelihood of post-Kidd improvement (after I supplied evidence to the contrary).
Now that I see your evidentiary standard, don't bother.

Definitely like Sparky and the effort that station has made to talk Bucks the past decade. But they are in new territory now with these partnership deals and simulcasts when conflicts with WTMJ.

Agreed.
I endorse if people want to bitch about Kidd endlessly, I just don't think it's that interesting to talk about. It would take something drastic for him to get the boot. Maybe a #metoo campaign where it comes out he used to beat on his wife? Oh wait.

The owners have to be rolling in the money right now (even more than usual) though don't they? With the stock market boom and the new tax laws. That 12ish mil or whatever is left should be nothing right now.

Speaking of the Bucks and radio stations, Craig Karmazin is CEO of ESPN Milwaukee. He's also a minority owner of the Bucks. ESPN Milwaukee's radio guys regularly read ads trying to get people to buy tickets to Bucks games. There's obviously a conflict of interest. We most certainly can't expect that station to share any objective, unbiased views of the Bucks. And frankly, I don't know why people never bring this up. If they have, I haven't heard anything.

I actually don't see any conflict over at WAUK 540 because they never talk about the Bucks. (Which stuns me given the CEO is a part owner)

It's true that they very, very rarely talk about the Bucks and at this point, it's more of a hypothetical situation. But whenever they do (again very rarely), it's seems to me that they're very hesitant to criticize them. 540 will have to talk Bucks eventually, most likely during the playoffs, and when they do I'll be interested to see what they say if Kidd is still the coach and they lose in the first round.
ETA: Sophia Minnaert was on two 540 shows yesterday (both clips are available on the ESPN Milwaukee webpage) and she was talking about how it's not that the Bucks are under-performing, rather that the Bucks aren't performing to expectations that we (media and fans) set, which were too high to begin with. This is flat-out wrong. The Bucks themselves set those expectations, but now that the Bucks aren't living up to those expectations, the source of the expectations has shifted and were too high. Shouldn't that sound familiar to us?

i dont know the results, i dont care. i know kidd sucks, and we cant do worse.
furthermore, i dont care about our results this season.its more important -that we fire him- than -when we fire him-.

Who knows. Their business was hedge funds which looked in some instances to capitalize on distressed assets. There business fortunes could be way up or way down.
I would guess though that the four year ledger (May 15, 2014 to May 15, 2018) may show as challenged on a cash flow basis given the amount of investments they've made in the organization overall and the arena costs. The new arena cash flow doesn't start until next fall.

Volume 3 is highly probable.
I agree but as I said when he came, when he does go it will be ugly!!!!!

Given he has already poked around at other coaching gigs, and my belief POBO is off the table, I don’t think it will be long. I think he is board as **** and just as happy to leave if he gets his money.

Probably not going to happen while he's making $6 million/year. Doubt he can make that doing anything else.
