His deal ends sooner and Ed Davis is actually really solid. Turner is probably even worse than Batum, though, so i understand the hesitancy.

Slightly related, i really wish we could somehow get Al Farouq Aminu from Portland.

At this point, this is one of the few "Batum salary dump" trades I'd be able to get behind. I'm really hesitating to move Nic while his value is this far down the gutter- it's as low as it's ever going to be, because he's hurt and playing like complete ass. He isn't himself this season. But if this team is going to stay the course and go all in, it's not happening with Nic this season, and it's not happening without a competent point guard. SAC can afford to take on Nic's contract and rest him this season, they're not competing for anything, and then they have a high caliber player capable of 15/6/6 on their hands for future seasons once he's healthy again. Hill's contract ending the same year as Kemba, MKG, Howard, Marvin, Frank, and Lamb makes things even more intriguing since we have no cap till then anyway.

Exactly, and the Kings need an upgrade at SF badly. Hill can give us a competent backup while also being able to play beside of Kemba

I'd love Hill, but I'd be even more exuberant if we could grab Carter at the same time. I think Carter has another year in him after this one, and he could easily give us 10-15 quality minutes a game.

I think he will be useless. I think we should allocate these minutes for players like Monk, Graham. Fresh & young prospects.
Hill is enough, and I really want him to come to Charlotte.

I have to disagree. He would be very useful. First, we lack experience on the bench. Actually, overall besides Marvin and Dwight, we're a young team. Second, he played college ball at UNC, and would be a big draw for the fans. And finally, last year he played well even at his advanced age. I know this year his stats are down, but he's playing on an awful team. So, I have to disagree he'd be useless.

Might as well just let MJ suit up, lol. Carter coming here based on some UNC connection from decades ago isn't something I'd be on board with just to put a few more fans in the seats.

batum to pelicans
asik/moore to hornets

sheds 3 mil in salary immediately 22 to 19 mil and lasts 2 more years instead of 3. Batum a decent fit with Davis and Boogie.

We discussed this on the trade board, was hard getting pelican fans to swallow taking on another big contract. I think Batum would fit great with them. I think I was trying to squeeze another guard out of them as well.

What would y’all think of this if we indeed decide to rebuild? I’m a huge Kemba fan but I’m starting to feel bad that he’s stuck on a loosing team.

I think if they threw in Hernangomez I would probably do it.

I'd probably ask for another 1st rounder instead of Hernangomez. Would do it though since this team isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Then, we just have to find a home for Dwight.

The idea is to shed salary, tax and add assets. Have to include Marvin to make that work, which returns Noah. Bad idea whichever way you turn it.

It saddens me, because I share his management philosophies, but Cho will not survive this.

Trade 1
Philly gets Kemba, Marvin, MCW, and a 2nd

Hornets get Fultz, Amir Johnson, Bayless, and a 1st

We then flip Amir Johnson to a contender for another pick. Let Bayless play with a green light and he either creates trade deadline interest, or drives the tank for our pick.

Trade 2
Batum for George Hill

Trade 3
Cavs get Dwight and MKG

Hornets get Tristan Thompson, Iman Shumpert, Cedi Osman, and the Brooklyn pick

Hornets start rebuild and hopefully Fultz and Monk become a dynamic backcourt in a few years.
Our pick would be top 5 after Kemba is traded
Then we add these picks
Brooklyn pick
Philly pick this year

All of that would be record setting for trades. Doubt it possible, but, if it all went down I’d be game at this point. Total rebuild...but won’t happen.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I feel like the team should deal Kemba for either Jamal Murray or Frank Frenchy.

To be fair I don't watch Denver but looking at stats, Jamal Murray is getting 16 pts on 45% shooting at only 20 years old.

I think a exciting young backcourt of Monk and Murray starting could sell tickets. Espically since Murray would become our key offensive piece and probably score about 18-20 a game.

___________

I think the Nuggets trade would be the best for the Hornets but trading him to the Knicks would be the best for Kemba.

He get's to play along with Porzingus making a real dynamic duo in New York aswell as return home.

I just read how Kemba is building a house in Charlotte and that there was almost no way we would trade him. I’m all about a rebuild but I’m also for keeping Kemba and letting him play his career out in Charlotte.

What we need is a change in front office and to start turning these picks into stars. It’s time for Cho to go.... Teams take chances and turn late round picks into their future. We turn late round picks into Belineli. We need someone who knows how to draft and get talent out of these players.

What incentive does DEN have for trading a young talent for a guy who doesn't match up age-wise with our young core ? By the time Harris, Jokic, Lyles, etc reach their prime, Walker will be in his 30's and slowing down....Murray fits with our core and we're not a win-now team.
