"“I didn’t just wake up a month ago, like, ‘Hey, I can play basketball really good now, guys!’” Dinwiddie says of his surprising success. “It took the coaching staff’s belief in me. They didn’t go find a vet or sign another guy. That’s what’s producing this.”

In other words... they didn't "VanGundy me"

Anybody could see he was a smart and capable player that needed to get back strong, and be given confidence.

Can't wait to see the next smart capable defensive 2 way player we "VanGundy" for a vet with a 40% 3 pt shooting percentage and subpar defense.

I swear we have about 5 guys on this board that will cry non stop about something. However we should go back and see if you were crying about Dinwiddie getting mins here then as well. I have a feeling, Also someone has to score on that team and it's him by default. Defenses will adjust and we will see how he does. He's not really elite at anything so I think he's playing a bit over his head.

Dinwiddie man? Dinwiddie? He absolutely sucked here and he's just ok now, on a horrible team. He's the equivalent of Mike James putting up a 20 ppg season years ago. He's a backup PG at best and not as impactful as Ish Smith even. I wouldn't die on that Dinwiddie mountain if I were you.

You are aware that entering the season Dinwiddie was 4th on their depth chart right?

Russel/Lin/Levert/Dinwiddie

If both Deangelo & Linsanity don't get hurt and miss huge chunks of time, Spencer likely rises no higher than 3rd on the depth chart.

I realize hes playing pretty well, and I realize he "knows" hes always been good. But I really think some NBA players (him included) have to be humbled to get good. He didn't play here, got traded for someone we immediately waived, he got immediately waived, then Brooklyn, who got screwed by prior management, took a chance on him and hes looking pretty good.

I think the Pistons should have held onto him longer, but I don't think anyone could've predicted how hes performing.

This would not happen to Stanley Johnson. I feel like he'd be better off overseas.
