My only problem with Winslow (if I have any) is his shooting mechanics. When I see him shoot, I see the mechanics of an apprentice from a middle school, meaning it feels he has a looooooooong way to go before he approaches pro levels. Of course it is just my observation.
Now question is. Can the Heat invest years to develop him to such point or not?
One thing is for sure, he has the dribble skills set and understands how to defend.

He's young with a completely develop-able deficiency. Why wouldn't it be worth the time?
The kid can get to the basket without issues. IMO, he should focus more in the higher % shots (mid-range to the rim). If he can finish those, he'll be a much more dangerous playmaker. The 3pt shot will come along. Look how long it took Victor Oladipo (25) to become a high percentage scorer AND he played 3 years in college. Orlando gave up on him for a Serge Ibaka rental.
Unless there is an exciting trade available where we can part with JW (think PG13 upgrade, not Ibaka lateral), I would rather spend the time developing him and grow his game with this team.

Winslow for Muddi would work for both players in that scenario, I'd want a little more for Winslow but wouldn't mind if that ended up being the return
I thought it will be best to trade Winslow for a PF instead.
We are plenty deep in the front court. Bam is our PF.
Bam is not a PF. He is a center who can play some PF.
PF nowadays can shoot outside the paint and/or even extend their range beyond the arc. We know that Bam baskets mostly are close to the rim or dunks.
I will trade Winslow for Portis. And if the Lakers ask him for Randle, I'll do it as well.
Back up PG is a need, but I doubt Muddi will fit to the Heat system. Terry Rozier will fit to Heat's culture.

You add Portis or Randle then you relegate Olynyk or Bam to third string center. Unless you have intentions of trading Whiteside. JJ is not going anywhere making 16 per and needs his minutes. Give Bam a chance at PF. He's been nothing short of awesome while playing the position.

I love to see Bam to play a lot of PF with Hassan and Olynyk, but can he do well at that position considering he's a natural center?? Defensively yes, but offensively??
While its true that it will create a load at frontline by trading Winslow for a PF, but you need to consider that the talent were getting in return. Sorry to say, but Winslow is a mistake of the Heat in the draft. So if we can get a talent in return for him like Nance, Randle, Portis or Rozier, you should go for it..
As for Whiteside, I do believe he will be traded if a good deal comes in or if Miami wants to resign Ellington this summer and use the MLE without exceeding the lux tax.
Do you really think Muddi will do well for Miami?
Rozier is the better fit if we can get him

I would LOVE!!!! to get Rozier for Winslow. I just don't see us as trading partners. I don't mind trading Winslow but it has to be for a young guard. Rozier fits the bill but Mudiay seems more attainable.

I think the issue is not being attainable, but does Mudiay fit the Heat culture? Maybe Mudiay is more talented than Winslow but I question the fit.

Imo he’s got good potential as a post player too. Like you said, he should work on stuff closer to the basket. I think he could learn a lot by studying the tape of someone like demar derozan because some of demar’s isolation game is realistically attainable for justise at some point. There’s only so much a player can work on recovering from injury during the offseason, so I hope he can end the season healthy and have enough opportunity to work on his game this summer

Pretty weird team. Looked bad in the beginning but Coach Spo has done a good job.
