I clicked on the article in the hopes that I would learn something new.

I was disappointed.

The very liberal Center for American Progress predicts that the removal of 750,000 DACA recipients would cost the country $433B over 10 years. Let's be generous and assume this estimate is correct and not merely pie-in-the-sky propaganda to serve their cause.

750,000 people producing $433B over 10 years amounts to a GDP per capita per year of $57,600.
Cato's probably more realistic estimate is just $280B over 10 years, which is more like $37,000 per capita.

Economists estimate that American GDP (produced by other 325 million Americans) over the next 10 years will be $236 trillion. That's a GDP per capita per year of $73,000.

So even in these, likely optimistic, scenarios by CAP and CATO, DACA is bringing down the national average.

The president has a different style. Its blunt. and sometimes has no nuance. He doesn't care what you think of him. and sometimes its just rolling for effect. and he has a main stream media ready to run with every little mistep he does or says.

that doesn't mean that there are NOT good human beings from these countries. I'm quite certain there is as is Donald trump. But there is a reason that almost no American is willing to move to haiti right now. Or syria. or Michoacan mexico. Or Juarez.

Look. when I was in the Navy. We pulled into pattaya beach thailand. 1992. The CDC published a report and supplied it to the US Navy. As an intelligence officer(ET/CT tech), i remember printing out the report. the estimated HIV/AIDS rate in pattaya beach at the time was in the 80 percent range. I have no idea if the "stats" were reliable. That is not the point. The CDC report was taken as Gospel back then. meaning if you lined up 10 women, 8 of them were likely infected with HIV. Still. About 4 idiots still slept with local prostitutes. 1 of those guys (african-american) ended contracting HIV. When we came back to mare island he passed it along to a local S.F. girl he had been dating. I lost contact after 1994 and have no idea of his or her fate. And it doesn't really matter. This story was not isolated. At that time, the late 80's and early 90's, Surface ships like aircraft carriers were ending up with 1% HIV contraction rates after stops in "at risk" countries. So the answer to the US NAVY was simple. They stopped pulling in based like Pattaya beach, Philippine islands, and other like them. US navy HIV rates dropped to negligible by 94.

This doesn't address other issue in higher risk port like theft, murder, drug smuggling, assault, etc. Just HIV. and it was simply a matter of risk assessment. And the president of the united states doesn't have time to go through 5-10 various levels of risk assessment for various countries when speaking of immigration. He is a busy man. he might simply say its a "shithole" country in lieu of risk assessment terminology. And let me assure each and every one of you, my friend. that 23 year old african-american kid that got drunk and slept with a prostitute in Pattaya beach...that kid called Thailand a shxthole and so much more and even worse. He tried to sue the US navy for putting him at risk for allowing him to enter an unsafe country. And his grievance and law suit was a factor in the NAVY closing down the navy base in Pattaya.

So I'm just not so sure why we cant call a shxt hole and shxt hole? look, let me start. I'm from Pullman. Roseland. I love that place. My people are from there and been there for over 100 years. Again, I love that place. But you guys would be scared shxt less to live there. and even visit there. You would likely not leave your car and walk around. And if you looked around long enough. you might even call it a shxt hole. So what!!? So what! I might even agree with you. Its certainly a shxt hole compared to where i live now. But its my shxt hole. I love that place. And I feel very safe there. and very comfortable there. I have tons of friends there. Good people live there. But they might role a guy like you. But me? I'm good there. I can walk around there with a wad of cash. and have no problems. Its my hood. nearly every time I go back home it doesn't take more than 5 minutes for a friend or family member to say, "slummin it today?" its a 20 year ongoing joke. and I say the same thing to them when they visit me. "Slummin it today?" Obviously my place is pretty nice and its just a joke. But the point is...just take a damn breath, folks! loosen up! christ!

Trump and our NSA, and department of immigration and various security departments need to assess risk for immigrants and visa applicants and travelers. Personally? I'm just not too offended if he calls a high risk country a shxt hole. sorry. I'm not. And i'm 100% certain that none of you that are so "offended" are better human beings than I am by any stretch of the imagination. It's times like these that i would love to have a candid video tape of who each and every one of us. How good of a human being are you? really? You steal? you do drugs? You ever cheat on you wife or husband? Because I can say no to all of those questions. Who are you as a Son. Daughter. Brother. father? Are you really worthy of judging others? You really live that kind of squeeky clean perfect life? really? Because I'm pretty good at judging character. And a few of you guys come off as having no sense of humor. take things way too seriously and are often very angry. Which are all red flags for me. So i wonder. if every one of us could see who each of us really is. behind closed doors. Are you kind? are you fair? are you non judgmental? Really? because you guys might be the meanest group of folks Ive ever dealt with. You treat conservatives awfully. AWFULLY!!!!! So yeah. I'll stack my life video up against any of you. any day of the week. even on my worst days. There's an old saying. the lady doth protest too much. it needs an update. The social justice warrior cops doth police the internet too much (from their basements).

But yeah. some places are shxt holes. let me know when you want to come visit mine. I got a 4 unit 3 blocks from where i grew up that always has a vacancy. And busted down door. yeah that kind of shxt hole. Come take the "shxt hole" challenge. And report back of what you think of the place. you gotta stay there for an entire week. We will see how you do. So until you come take my personal "shxt hole challenge," shut ya damn pie hole!!! And let my president get his work done!!!

Trump and his administration and the Republican party are gradually switching their focus from the "Keeping Jobs in America" pledges, that grabbed them just enough swing votes in swing states to pull off a victory, to "Look how good the economy's doing" pointing to the unemployment rate, the stock market, and other indicators which were already in pronounced positive trends when he took office, and probably would have continued as positive trends under Clinton too.

For every "look at the bonuses Walmart employees are getting" there will be a "hundreds laid off at Sam's Club," but people will believe what they want to believe. Trump rather obvious mental instability has deteriorated whatever critical reasoning skills he possessed, but his supporters ignore that and look to his blunt, plain spoken style, ignoring the fact that his style is age-related mental decay combined with him being an ass from the jump. If he let one loudly during a TV interview, the comments would be, "He's just trying to show libs how those countries smell," or "That's what he thinks of Fake News!" To some, even his gas is gold plated.
