Arizona Gets In On Teixeira
29th July, 2007 - 3:58 pm
Star-Telegram - The Arizona Diamondbacks are said to be among the teams interested in trading for Mark Teixeira, joining the Braves and Angels. The Diamondbacks have won eight consecutive games and have moved into a first-place tie in the National League West -- and their last victory came thanks to a walk-off hit by 25-year-old first baseman Conor Jackson, who could be offered to the Rangers.

Arizona needs offense -- the Diamondbacks entered Saturday hitting .249 as a team -- and has a surplus of young pitching.

Hey BJ, i'm thinking it might be CoJack and CarGo. That's a hell of a steal for us if it happens...

CoJacks recent spark makes me kinda hesitant to want to let him go and send Tracy to rott in Texas instead... But We'd be getting a franchise position player in return, so id love if it happens.

How the hell are we going to re-sign him? Boras is going to get 20 mil a yr for him, and I'm not sure how we can do that.

Braves end up getting him. Thats too bad because this might make them the team to beat for the wildcard and we will have to win the division.

He would've been nice, but certainly not worth giving up the prospects for a simple "rental."

We just don't have the pitching/experience to take us deep in the playoffs.
