Butler has been a stud. Make the trade ten out of ten times. But, Lavine was my favorite Wolf since his drafting, and Dunn and the Finnish bomber have looked so much better than I could have imagined. If they can get lucky in this year’s draft lotto, they could have a very nice core going forward.

The suns and the bulls will be out of the playoffs until 2023 at a minimum.

Assuming health isnt an issue the Bulls will be in the playoffs no later then 2020 imo. Probably as soon as next season if they really went for it but my guess is they will remain cap flexible as possible until the following summer.

Next year is too optimistic imo.

Assuming Lebron leaves
Raptors - bucks - wizards - Boston = locks
Detroit - miami = middle of the pack

That leaves 2 spots for philly, Brooklyn, Chicago, Indiana, and New York. I personally have brooklyn and philly on a higher trajectory then Chicago. That leaves Chicago, Indiana and New York on the outside looking in. If Lebron stays that only leaves room for 1 of those 5 teams.

I also meant to say 2022. I have the bulls out for the next 4 seasons.

Realistically, what do you think our current record would have been if we didn't make Butler trade but brought in Taj,Teague,Jamal?

We’d be 9th or 10th seed right now

Two years at the most. LaVine and Markkanen will both be all-stars in Lauri's third season.

Losing an mvp candidate and having dunn/Maark?

Take our 28 wins, best record vs the west and divide it by 2...and then some. Jimmy and Kat are 4 and 5 in the league in win shares.

The West is very top-heavy. It's not it's filled with good teams 1 through 8 like it used to be. Also that makes the Bulls and attractive proposition for stars stuck on mediocre teams in the West ie Anthony Davis.

i meant for star players, kat may not even make all star in the west with how many good players there are this season in the west.

Bulls will make the playoffs next year or the year after, their rebuild will be quick because Lavine & Dunn are more experienced but are still very young & Markkenan plays calm and cool for a rookie. They need one more piece

Who is a better center in the West other than Cousins? Being a top 4 team should easily get Towns in.

My point is the west has better players so making the all star team is a lot harder. lavine and Markanen may make the all star team in the east in 2-3 seasons but they wouldn't in the west IMO.

Not sure how you can say that about Lauri. The West isn't exactly stacked with great PFs. Anthony Davis, a declining Blake Griffin and glorified role player in Draymond Green. And Aldridge who has never been elite and is getting older.

Chicago might not be long before they make the playoffs in the East, but I don't think they'll truly make noise for a while.

No one gives credit to Thibs and Co. But I think that's the main difference between us and Bulls. Last year we were in the same position that Bulls are now. I had many doubts about Wolves team after last season and even more doubts after Thibs made his moves. Starting from Butler trade, Gibson and Teague contract, Rubio trade. Offensive schema, no defense, obsolete coaching style etc. But for good or bad, Thibs is too stubborn to take care about others opinions or trends. We are winning in the very unique way, we finally have a developing identity.

Regardless of whether they play for us or not, I think it's encouraging that Dunn and Markkannen look like they will turn out to be good NBA players and decent draft picks. It speaks to Thibs' ability to draft, which will benefit us in the future. The fact that he wanted Butler in the draft and also reportedly really wanted to pick Draymond Green back in Chicago are also further indications that the OKC 1st has a good chance of turning into a decent player.

I loved seeing LaVine playing as well. I think the trade was mutually beneficial. I'm miss LaVine and Dunn, but I'm so glad we have Jimmy Butler as well.

Well said. I too miss them, especially Zach. I think he's gonna be special.

That said, I still make that trade 99 times out of 100.
