Yup. But sometimes in basketball its not how you get the points and assists its when you get them.
John made two shots to end the game.
That’s right.. CCJ needs to post that positivity thread ASAP!
Disagree, if Wall cuts the turnovers in half (4ish), takes about 10 less idiotic shots, and gives 50% effort on defense in that game, maybe cut out the technical foul, then it’s a 20 point blowout that ends in regulation.
I know it doesn't seem credible coming from NatP4 because he is so consistently critical of Wall, but he is right here. If a player plays horrible for 3.5 quarters and then finishes strong, you can't assume his "clutchness" outweighs the damage he did earlier.
Points are points and bad possessions are bad possessions. It doesn't really matter when they happen. Wall made risky passes at times when there was no court balance, and he took way too many long 2's. These are mental errors, not physical ones. One can easily forgive an off shooting night, but not when the off shooting is due to taking so many low percentage shots.
I will say that the 8 turnovers weren't all his fault. One or two of those passes made it to Gortat's hands and Gortat couldn't hang on. I'm not really blaming Gortat either, those passes were coming in hot so they were very difficult to handle, but they did get to him.
Overall, it was not a very good game from Wall. These things happen. Wall had cut down his long 2's for the most part since his return from injury, but he regressed this game. Let's hope he gets back on track.
