The coaching staff should be fired for this. They have no idea how to coach shooting.

The form looks better at least. Still, super frustrating.

No, the thing we saw in October he did on his own. The shot we see now has been coached by the Sixers.

He's getting too much advice from too many people. You have 10 different guys in his ear teaching him the best way to shoot, and the byproduct is some odd combination of a bunch of different shots. Letting it get to this level alone is a massive failure on the coaching staff and a fireable offense. Not Brett Brown, but the assistants who work with him.

And Brett Brown just now said his pain has returned and his shoulder is still bothering him.

This type of sh*t could only happen to the Sixers.

What a joke.

Right, reportedly an aau coach or personal trainer did this.

Either way, if they’ve been working on this for two months, why is his release point so low and there a weird hitch? Either bad coaching or he is not receptive or adept to benefit from good coaching.

Make him play. If he needs to improve at shooting, he can do that during or after season.

It looks like a hybrid of what he was doing. Maybe it’s not easy to revert back to a shot like everyone was telling me two months ago.

Says it all right there. Ask yourself, do you think this would be happening if he was on the Spurs? HEEEELLL NOOOO.

I’m trying to think if I’ve ever seen a good shooter change their shot and become a bad shooter. It might be unprecedented.

Just release the “out indefinitely” label already. We have all seen this happen within this joke of an organization before.

He clearly comfortable enough within the mid range to play him so just play him. I don't understand the fascination about the 3 at this point. He can hit FT's and can shoot off the dribble that should be enough for him to get through this abomination of a first year.

I think with the situation the way it is now you will find it hard to find anyone that actually thinks he was injured. He’s clearly tired to change his mechanics (His own doing or under the advice of others) and is still struggling to find something that works. Amazing stuff.

Seriously. If Lonzo Ball can play while shooting miserably and Ben Simmons can play without even attempting jumpers....why can’t Fultz?

As someone who has played competitive ball almost my entire life, I can tell you this is more coaching than mental. Back when I had an injury that sidelined me for months and made me unable to workout, when I stepped foot on the court again and grabbed a basketball, it felt heavy, and I was hesitant to shoot in front of people because I hadn't shot for months and I didn't wanna start airballing shots. Mental issues won't change your actual form though. You don't wake up one day and suddenly change your hand placement, ball placement, release point, etc. All of that takes reps. Mental issues would cause you to subconsciously revert back to what is familiar and what is his natural form, not change your shot to something new your muscle memory isn't used to.

I think back in October when he wasn't shooting at all, that was the mental stuff. But his mechanics? That's all coaching. Someone or someONES is giving him horrible shooting advice. And the fact that he isn't put into a gym with a legit shooting coach, and the doors locked with chains and bolts with a Full Metal Jacket drill instructor, and he isn't allowed out until he gets it back to the way it was is a complete and total failure on this staff and everyone around Fultz. His people have really let him down. I mean, just the fact that he's even allowed to shoot like that is a failure. The second the coaches saw him shoot like that it should have been "Nope, back to the gym you go"

I wonder if his agent is to blame also and if his agent is pushing back here not allowing Fultz to be coached, that could be an issue too.
