He clearly comfortable enough within the mid range to play him so just play him. I don't understand the fascination about the 3 at this point. He can hit FT's and can shoot off the dribble that should be enough for him to get through this abomination of a first year.

Wait this actually encouraging. I feel better.

Didn’t he go try and work with Abdul Rauf?

I dunno even if he was healthy and shot like he did in college he wasn't shooting 40% from 3. Trying to get everything perfect in this situation is dumb and in the end he needs experience against NBA bodies as oppose to trying to cherry pick everything to find the perfect situation. They keep obfuscating the situation and making it worse.

Right, reportedly an aau coach or personal trainer did this.

Either way, if they’ve been working on this for two months, why is his release point so low and there a weird hitch? Either bad coaching or he is not receptive or adept to benefit from good coaching.

Make him play. If he needs to improve at shooting, he can do that during or after season.

Says it all right there. Ask yourself, do you think this would be happening if he was on the Spurs? HEEEELLL NOOOO.

I’m trying to think if I’ve ever seen a good shooter change their shot and become a bad shooter. It might be unprecedented.

He was never a good shooter. He was an inconsistent shooter (even in HS) who managed to hit 41% of his 3's in college over a 20 game span.

No one see's clips of him shooting normally in the mid range because most people don't really care. They want the outrage and panic.

Fact is outside of the free-throws and some off the dribble shooting I haven't seen him shoot 2 jumpers the same way. It's inconsistent which makes sense after you tweak your motion to support an injury and will likely continue to be until he get's time to specifically focus on his shooting(off season). Having said that a lot of young players have inconsistent mechanics and it by itself is not enough to keep you off the court. Get him on the court.

Unfortunately for us, Ainge isn't an idiot, so we'd never get that offer in real life.

The fact that they are even letting him shoot that way in practice is a failure on their part. All it's doing is causing him to develop a muscle memory for it.

Who is running this organization?

Hopefully ESPN starts showing this video over and over and over. Colangelo deserves to wear this shame and suffer the appropriate consequences for this Fultz debacle.

To be fair, everyone had Fultz at the top of their draft board. I mean everyone. The thing is that both the Cs and the Sixers saw him workout close to the draft. He supposedly shot poorly in both workouts. The Cs assigned it some meaning and the Sixers shrugged it off.

Yeah even the 3 point shots look like they have better form, despite the horrible outcomes. These videos are very encouraging tbh.

The problem is changing your form isn't like being paralyzed and slowly, incrementally learning how to walk. This should have taken a day to fix. I changed my form a million times when I played basketball. Took a day to change back. It's not hard.

The fact that the standard that has been set is "Ok, this month he slightly improved this, let's see what slight improvements he can make next month!" is sad.

Great idea. Nothing says compassion like endlessly shaming a teenager. Especially when BC comes out to defend himself by telling everyone it's Markelle's fault. Oh! And don't forget the gloating Celtics fans would have the opportunity to do.

**** wonderful idea.
