Someone go look up our record in early games. Feel like it's awful.

i don't know but Kemba's 52 on MLK day 2 seasons ago was incredible. It took 2 overtimes but we did win.

Nicolas Williams. Wait. erm. Something's wrong here

Seriously, Nic is Bradley's toy. If he could shoot better, everyone would be talking about this guy.
As for this hornets team, you can't perform with 2 liabilities in D at guard position playing together. And yes, this means both Batum & Lamb can't play well with Kemba at same time unless they are at sf with mcw or a guy like Graham at sg (who has to play pf on small ball because you can't find anyone tough enough to do it behind Marvin).

Not far from thinking that the best solution for now would be to play mcw at sg as starter with Lamb at the wing, and play both Batum & MKG from the bench to keep both lines up solid.

Lamb/Frank/Batum/JOB + mcw line up. Seriously, Silas, what do you expect..

K. Frank replaced by Marv, that's already better. Except for Batum-look-guys-iam-gonna-make-that-pass.

Well. At least Batum is playing much more on the offensive glass than usual. No point forward stuff on top of the key so far.
Anyway offense will come the day he will give his body at 100% in defense. That's what he learnt from Monty Williams but appparently he is doing everything to forget it.

Half time with -6. Hornets could do a little hold-up here (7/11 on 3's really help them look better than they were).

I like what i see from Kemba. He only took 5 shots. If his teammates wants to win games, they have to show it on the court.
So far starters are doing a decent job considering how bad Nic has been in defense. Marvin above all who helps keeping the perimeter defense honnest unlike Frank (who was also torched in 1st half, he only played center for what i recall though).
Bench was really bad on both ends, especially for transition defense. Hopefully Silas goes full Clifford in the locker room so we have some pride reaction, because Pistons are not pushing it yet that is pretty obvious. They can play much more physical than they are doing for now.

glad to see Batum playing much more in the paint, even though he is only 1/3 or 1/4 on his posts up (including 1/2 on ish smith.. ). He seemed upset after ref after he failed to score a lay up in the post through contact, maybe he will realize at last that he has to earn his buckets.
Way less happy with the way he defended Bradley (unless you like running after someone that you can't catch).

Good defensive team work defenssively right now from starters. They take the lead again.

Kemba still quiet but i like this. Wings have lot of opportunities, so far Marvin is awesome

K. Frank is back. bye bye lead

K bench doing a better job now in defense minus Frank who is totally useless at pf (Howard playing center right now).
At least he is doing better things in offense. And Lamb also woke up.

+4 for the Hornets, that's still +10 on the quarter.

MCW doing also a very good job for now

Good run from the bench. And it comes from the defense.

Kemba and MKg coming back early in the 4th, i like this. Now Marvin. Lamb still in and Frank. Probably best line up to finish games untill Cody is back.
+11, time out for the Pistons.

Frank rolled his right ankle now. Does not look so bad though. But Howard coming back most likely (

Again, Batum replacing Lamb... i Don't get this. Still +10, we will see

8 points scored by the Pistons in the 4th so far (5' left). 22 pts by the Hornets.

Hopefully one day players will get that all good things from improving the defense. Much easier to score in transition.

Even Batum decided to show up in D against Bradley. The very proof he is been lazy.

Gawd. Just when you think you have a game of reference you get a 9-0 from the Pistons on open 3's because of lazy offense & bad turnovers leading to transition 3's (ok, Harris bank'd one of his shots)...

Lamb only played 18 minutes. I’m having a hard time understanding this too. Why is his minutes constantly decreasing despite him still being a steady and constant contributor? Might as well trade him before he go down to 9ppg and his value isn’t as good. Not that I want to trade him but if you’re going to waste him as a player on the roster then you might as well trade him for something in return so that it’s not all a waste.

Ok good win. Kudos to Marvin for his game, especially during 1st half when he was bringing it on both ends.
Great second half in defense, especially on the perimeter (even though the numbers don't show it) except that minute late in the game when they thought Pistons had given up.
I like Kemba's game, very quiet in 1st half, waiting for forwards to show up. Not saying it was perfect, Marvin monster game really helped hide a bit of mkg/nic/lamb's so so game, but at least he was great in crunch time because he was not washed out.

Batum had horrible moments (even a facepalm turnover in crunch time on a double team...) but he was much more active in the paint which is much better. And he did a better job on Bradley in 2nd half (he could not do worst than during 1st half though).
Still i would have prefered Lamb to close the game but all in all, this is a significant win. I hope Cody will be back soon, Hornets could become enjoyable again.

Good win tho. Marvin played well. Dwight had one of his better games despite some lazy defense. Kemba was Kemba. Batum struggled and had his typical turnover ridden game but at least he wasn’t invisible.

Honneslty, Lamb was lost on every curl - not just Bradley, he had to check Kennard couple of times and another wing from Detroit - but in a very Batum way.
He was not very agressive in offense in 1st half though, but in 2nd half he was pretty good and he was one of the factor of the good run from the bench.

The problem being that you don't know which version of Batum you get in the 4th. I can say that even Batum himself is under pressure (hence his bad turnover on that double team and his missed free throw and free throw nervosity afterwards).

Anyway more than anything, i just don't want to see any minute with them playing together. They both are liabilities in defense and no one with common sense should. Knowing Silas had a few minutes of Lamb/Batum/Frank/JoB...

The root of Lamb’s frustrations in the 1st half was the referees not giving him obvious foul calls which resulted in him clapping and yelling in the ref face and getting a tech. There was about 2 calls that should’be sent him to the FT line before that one that went uncalled. I honestly thought he was going to hit the ref when his temper finally boiled over lol good thing he didn’t.
