Do we pay 2/4? 3/4? 4/4?

If we drop Delly or Snell that would make it easier to pay 3 but I have a hard time seeing us keeping all 4.

Brogdon's becoming a must-sign.

At what prize is the question

Middleton/brogdon could get us 1 really good player to max instead of 2

You pay Parker, Brogdon, Mids and Bledsoe if the prices are right....but Henson, Snell, Delly and Telly need to be gone in order for that to happen.

But we need to throw in another salary for a Center. We just flat out need one.

I am pretty certain Jabari and Brogs will get their money, Middleton and Bledsoe will be the problem.

Brogdon for sure. He's so damn solid and likely won't need the max. If Jabari looks good they'll match whatever he's offered. Khris and Bledsoe are more wait and see. They're at their peak now and I don't know how gracefully either will age. They'll both want big raises and I don't like what I think they'll look like after they get their money.

My guess is 3/4 and my order of preference is
Brogdon
Jabari
Bledsoe
Khris

But given the Mavericks' situation, it seems pretty clear what the smart course of action will be in the coming three weeks. Mark Cuban knows what it is -- and knows that the 29 other NBA teams know what it is, too.

First, remember that they have about $13 million in salary-cap space for this season. So they can take on new salary without any real penalty, other than a lot of Benjamins out of Cuban's wallet.

With that in mind, the prudent route is to take on players -- even if they carry larger salary obligations than the Mavericks would like -- provided the Mavericks also can get prime assets in return.

"I would say we are looking to use our cap space actively," Cuban said Monday. "We will take back salary to get picks or guys we think can play."

This doesn't mean you should expect a blockbuster before the deadline. But the kindling wood for a bonfire is in place. And don't be surprised if you hear a lot of speculation between now and then.

With a 15-29 record, the playoffs are a pipe dream for this team. And while some pipe dreams come true, making a run at .500, which is what it will take (at least) to qualify for the playoffs, seems slim if not impossible.

Still trying to figure out the best trade for the Bucks is like finding a unicorn.....

Bucks: Frye, Dedmon and Bellinelli
Cavs: Delly
Hawks: Snell, Wilson and Zizic

Bucks: Frye, "Dedmon," and Belly are expirings, freeing Parker money.
Cavs: They just need him back.
Hawks: New players to build around.

Then figure out something for Henson, Telly and Wilson

Coming back to operation win now. Thon, DJ and Telly for Dedmon, Ersan and Bellinelli.

Only problem is all three of those guys incoming are FA's. Dedmon has another year but can opt out this summer. We'd have a bench though for the playoffs.

If Atlanta was into it, the FA issue wouldn't even be viewed as a problem to me. Added flexibility that allows us to maybe look at some other quality players that want to find a way to come here to play with our superstar.

Thon Maker has the worst +/- of any player on a winning team. The Bucks normally player pretty well but they completely crater pretty much every time Thon is on the floor. I am absolutely not in "win now" mode, but just getting a quality center to replace all of Thon's minutes and move Henson to the bench would be a huge boost to this team. They don't need to add an All Star. They don't need to trade Middleton. They don't need to get a new coach. Get a league average starting C and this team is instantly a contender to make the Finals.

Why then would the Hawks take on the contracts of Delly and Telly?

And what do they have to trade for that?

They are only taking Telly. And come next November his contract goes off the cap for medical retirement. But they get the great Thon and DJ for a few years on rookie deals.

I'd just cut the Hawks out and would do Delly for Frye + Zizic. This deal just doesn't work for CLE.

That deal probably ensures we'd go in the luxury tax big time since the contracts of Thon and DJ are very small and the Bucks arguably would want to retain at least Dedmon if not all three guys.

But it does move Telly out for sure, as it is hard to tell whether a panel of MD's will rule his medical condition would allow the Bucks to drop the contract off the books for cap purposes one year from his last game (i.e. November 2018).

I'd call and offer Thon for Dedmon if people wanted a smaller deal. Still think the Hawks might decline, but who knows.

Maybe the Hawks would be willing to talk about Snell+? for Bazemore+Dedmon but I highly doubt that they are giving us all their expirings for dreck

isn't it awful that our best picks the last few years are second rounders?!

imagine if we picked decent players in the first round, so they held some trade value......

How much would it really cost to get one of KOQ or Willy Hernangomez?

Knicks have a silly amount of centers something has to give.

First off, yes drop Delly and Snell. They are paid more than they are worth.

I don't see Brogdon nor Bledsoe commanding big contracts. Middleton and Parker yes. I could see us keeping all 4 but its a long shot and I am not sure I want to keep all 4. Need to know our options.
