Knicks have a silly amount of centers something has to give.

KOQ would be nice
RoLo would be better

I don't care how bad those two are. I'm not trading young players on dirt cheap rookie contracts for expiring rentals so that Jason Kidd can make a push for the 5th seed.

Henson hasn't been that bad. Replace Thon's 15-20 mins with KOQ and your C position isn't a problem anymore. One of those two from the Knicks just seem to make too much sense. You wouldn't think they'd be asking for more than a 2nd round pick.

Yes RoLo would be better. And he has another year on his contract.

But Lopez would cost significantly more than KOQ. Right?

its a shame the moronic deal we gave snell may cost us a swing with Jabari. Mirza and delly were bad but we compounded it by making another stupid reach with snell. if his contract is moveable I will be shocked.

I get it why the Cavs wouldn't trade the Nets pick. But seems like they should do something. That roster is a mess.

Following the Cleveland Cavaliers' 118-108 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday, multiple players acknowledged growing discontent and a strong sense of concern that unlike past seasons, the team does not have the capability to fix its problems and get back on a championship track.

Several prominent players, speaking on condition of anonymity to ESPN, Cleveland.com and The Athletic, expressed doubt that the problems -- an aging roster, defensively challenged personnel and a glut of redundant role players -- could simply be worked out through patience and a chance to coalesce when fully healthy.

With the trade deadline looming Feb. 8, the Cavaliers do have some options, including trading their 2018 first-round pick, which could fetch interest on the market. In addition, they also have Brooklyn's unprotected first-round pick in this year's draft, acquired in the Kyrie Irving deal. However, several league sources told ESPN that the Cavs would prefer to hold onto the pick as a potential franchise-resetting asset should LeBron James leave as a free agent in July.

Snell's deal seems way more tradeable than Plumlee at least.

Wouldn't be surprised if we similarly bailed on him despite the extension, especially if there is a whiff of positive value.

Or even if it's just neutral value it seems like we could shift resources around to not be the worst rebounding team in the league.

CLE: Middleton, Snell, Tele
MKE: Jae, TT, Shump, BKN 1st

I think this makes both teams better in the long run. If Bron bolts they can still flip Middleton

I can't control these guys firing Kidd nor hiring a RealGM, so for the moment I'll indulge in some minor trade talks.

The wrinkle in the Thon for Dedmon deal is that I think Bird rights might be complicated with Dedmon given he signed only a two-year deal last summer. Too lazy to look up those restrictions.

Not arguing your point, just reinforcing how sad it is that our last three #1 picks would be referred to as "dreck".

Tossed Rashad in there for good measure.

snell or delly or Mirza with Vaughn, thon, and Wilson....... for any expiring contract anywhere in the league.

absolutely hilarious that's probably not there for us.

Bucks: Frye, Dedmon and Bellinelli
Cavs: Delly
Hawks: Snell, Wilson and Zizic

Bucks: Frye, "Dedmon," and Belly are expirings, freeing Parker money.
Cavs: They just need him back.
Hawks: New players to build around.

Then figure out something for Henson, Telly and Wilson

I'd just cut the Hawks out and would do Delly for Frye + Zizic. This deal just doesn't work for CLE.

Cleveland needs Delly and they are tail spinning fast. Atlanta gets some good players.

IMO people do not understand is we need to free up salary and dump some players, yes including the amazing Thon and Wilson. Our team isn't that good and Kidd makes them look even worse. Salary will be an issue in 2 years. Hell even this summer with Parker.

Need to trade Henson, Delly and Snell, and Maker/Wilson to complete those trades.

We need to Fire Kidd and refine this roster. We have geat players, just crappy constricting contracts.

one would hope. I spoke briefly with fred whitfield last night and so badly wanted to ask about that deal but couldn't make myself do it after the pleasantries we shared in the initial part of the conversation.

If you are just trying to get essentially an expiring, I would guess Minnesota might offer up Cole Aldrich contract which I think has a TO or UNGTD next season.

Yea or just moving Delly or Mirza along with those guys or a 2nd and getting back a similar contract but a more useful player. Something along the lines of Mirza for Chandler. They'd save a few million and get a 2nd back from us. Things along those lines since the expiring is likely not there as you say.

We offered Vaughn and a 2nd round pick to try and dump Henson before the season started, zero takers

Well that's not the same as also taking back money from the other team. Just like GoS just said, the expirings likely isn't there and that's what you mention here. But if you're also taking back salary and maybe even saving a team few mil maybe it changes things. And likely a 2nd is more valuable than Vaughn, Wilson, and likely even Thon at this point.
