Man, that sucks. I am fairly sure our team usually played better with him than without so what's happening here? Do they just have a backup PG who is way more capable than any backup we have had? Has Rubio regressed in some way? Is he taking more shots which is hurting the team?
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

without looking i'd be willing to bet rubio spent majority of his time on the court with wiggins, kat, zach, klove and kevin martin to hide the glaring holes in his game. So even if bench players were on the court with rubio, it was still at the same time as other big time scorers which gave off the illusion of rubio being in the plus when in reality is was just good line up management by the coaching staff. and the wolves since rubio have never had any good back up PGs.

Re: Updates on former Wolves
The Jazz just don't have much in the way of scorers. Gobert is sort of the anti-KAT. Instead of Andrew Wiggins and Lavine he's got Joe Ingles and Thabo out on the wing (and yes, Donovan Mitchell, but I don't think he needs much help). Neto is more of a scoring guard than he is so it's not surprising they score more when he's on the floor.
Ricky's just not a great fit for this team except in terms of his defense. Put him on a team with lots of offensive weapons and he'd be considerably more valuable.

Re: Updates on former Wolves
I wouldn't worry about that too much. This is the first time in his career we're seeing this kind of bad numbers/impact.
Who watched the Jazz playing this season knows that is a similiar system that Thibs used last season in the first 25/30 games of the season with horrible results (for the team and for Rubio) and is not the system you should use with a PG like him.
Only bandwagon fans don't know the kind of mediocre players he had to play along in the 6 years he was here...
He deserves the best and i'm sure he's going to be sucessful sooner or later in the NBA.

That being said, right now it appears getting a 1st round pick was a coup. We got the pick for a guy on a 2-year contract, so we're only 25% there to seeing the complete outcome of the deal, but right now it looks very positive.

Yeah, this is our fault... the “band-wagon fans” that opposing defenses sag off into the paint on ricky defensively.
A highly attractive game component that every franchise is chomping at the bits to lead their organization forward.

It was a big win for the Thibs, getting a first for a pg that was no longer a fit here. Especially since it looks like the real strong finish he had to the season last year was a mirage.
To be honest, I can't see Rubio ever playing a big role on a great team.

Bill Simmons- by the way, It might be time to give up on the ricky Rubio dream.
Zach Lowe - .... I know
BS - I think I’m there... He’s only 27 and I keep circling back to that but I just don’t think it’s going to happen. I just don’t think you can succeed at basketball the way it’s played these days if you can’t shoot.
ZL - we’ll I think the next interesting test case... everyone in the league is curious about everything Orlando is going to do under a new front office. Their big move was signing Simmons and now they have some big decisions Peyton and Gordon are going to be free agents and...... Elfrid Peyton is more athletic then Rubio but it’s the same thing. He’ll put up numbers but they’ve only win games he hasn’t played. I don’t know how much of that is cause and effect but.
BS- look... I’d rather have Shane Larkin. I mean seriously... I think there’s 40 point guards in the league that the way basketball is played now can succeed to some dregree and the ones who can’t suceed are the ones that can’t shoot.
ZL - I mean ricky is such a nice guy and one of the dozen best passers maybe ever... just his vision... but it doesn’t translate.

Not sure if true or not, but was Nikola Pekovic arrested or something related to coke and weapons?
We all thought he was connected with the euro mob, but I thought it was just a joke. Can this be confirmed? I couldn't find anything on the net. (I will admit I suck using the internet.)

It looks like people were arrested with drugs and weapons in a car owned by Nikola Pekovic, but I can't find any indication that Pekovic was arrested.

Thanks. Would have never looked there. Found this interesting......He served as president of Partizan from September 2015 to June 2017. Gangster move indeed!

Even you admitted earlier in the season that there might not be an NBA team for a PG like him. Isn't that a bad thing? You're not going to reconstruct your system just to get the most out of Rubio, he's just not that special of a player. Maybe you let him freelance off the bench I think that would be good for him. That's not meant to be a slight to have him come off the bench but having a ball dominant point guard that cannot score is an extremely difficult thing to build your team around. If he's playing with bench guys we're typically talking about guys that struggle to create their own offense and that's where he could help.

Re: Updates on former Wolves
meh, Thibs did stupidly push in an injured Zach way too hard last year. Zach hurt his hip and missed 2 games, then came back and was CLEARLY hurt for his last 10 games before the ACL. Thibs ran a limping, grimacing Zach out there for 37.3 minutes per game over the last 10. Zach's scoring dropped from over 20.9ppg to 13.5 because he couldn't move. It was a terrible way to handle a 21 year old budding star.

Idk why but Rubio's shooting percentages still hurt me.
