I very much doubt that Jabari can become that #2 guy Bucks need in order to become a contender, so the hope should be that he comes back in good condition, gets signed for a tradeable deal and then eventually gets traded along with other pieces for the next disgruntled superstar wanting out of his team.

Jabari simply can't come back in a better moment imo.
Our defense is bottom 5 in the league with plenly of above average defenders and our bench is the worst struggling to get a couple of buckets per game.
Nobody will blame him for defensive collapses and our bench can't be worse that it currently is with him playing in some of those garbage thon lineups.

Also no more Middleton as a PF.

That kid with the 34 jersey wanted to foul him. You could see it.

Dramatic difference in his locomotion. He's on his toes and changing direction better. He gets lower in a crouch which allows him to recruit the stronger upper leg muscles and glutes for his steps. That's hard work and you have to be fit to do that. It's exhausting. Jabari always showed his explosiveness a few times a game when leaping, but I felt he didn't have it consistently because of conditioning and bulk issues. It's more important to consistently have that bounciness on every possession than wow people with a few spectacular dunks. Of course he hasn't been playing, so his conditioning might not be any better than before for a while. And it still doesn't address the issue of why he could do this in such a critical contract year but didn't do it before.

Hopefully this will be reflected in more eagerness to get in the paint, box out, and just generally push people around more instead of playing like Vince Carter. In order to get their best players on the court, they obviously desperately need him at pf more than sf so it's something to watch. I definitely have much more hope than before of him being a big boost this year though. It doesn't erase the injury concerns, financial issues, or defensiveness awareness issues, but at least it's something.

Of course you know I'm more concerned about what this does for his trade value, but we'll talk about that later. :D
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

The quickness from about the 30 second mark to the 35 second mark is pretty encouraging. It looks like someone hits fast forward real quick on the video. Hopefully with him being a little more lean and looking like him being on his toes more might help prevent any future big injuries.

Could they have not used a better picture? Between the beard and tired eyes, he looks homeless in that photo.

He did the same thing the last time he was returning from his injury.
He will shave and cut his hair after he steps back in the court.

Yeah didn't mean he needed to shave or anything, but I thought they could've used a better angle or showing him shooting a jumper.

Unfortunately, the only defense where players stand in place and let guys get past them like that is the team that Jabari plays for.

Super excited if this is true, but Kidd just said the other day that they’re looking to bring him back the two games before the all star game. Knowing this franchise Jabari thinks two weeks, Kidd thinks two games, and the bucks will accidentally hit the release button

Whatever it is, it is good. Give him a few games of 20 minutes off the bench and he has the all start break to see how the knee is responding.

Not sure if anyone else caught this (or that it matters much), but the TNT crew were talking about the Cavs last night and Barkley says they aren't making the finals. When questioned who will make it in the East if the Cavs don't, he said he wants to see the Bucks after Jabari gets back. :reporter:

He went down on February 8, 2017. Conventional treatment wisdom is to give a full 12-month's before returning to action although Jez has said that number isn't necessarily scientific.

The last game before the All-Star break is on February 15, 2018 against Denver.

If they hold him to the true 12-months, he'd play on:

2/9 against Miami
2/10 Orlando
2/13 Atlanta
2/15 Denver

Of course all those games are after the 2/8 trade deadline. That's why it seemed to me he'd be back January 26th at home against Brooklyn if the team wants to start him two weeks earlier.
