De'Andre Hunter is a sleeper for now. Wouldn't be surprised if he's the kind of guy who comes out after a big tourney. Think he might be legit. Excellent tools, appears to have a very competitive mentality, think his shot could come around in time.

I watched Trae against WV and again last night against a middling KSt team. I just dunno. Maybe if I would have seen him against TCU... He was TERRIBAD with the ball yesterday. Struggles against athleticism. No sure thing to be certain.

Toolsiest is Mitchell Robinson from college of none. Also Bruno Fernando of MD - explosive high energy athlete - but raw.

Player who I don't see on any mocks right now but SHOULD be a 1st rounder is Keita Bates-Diop. Well built tweener forward, 6'7 and a fraction, 7'1 wingspan. Learned to shoot 3's this season - senior who took dramatic up-turn this season - often a red flag - but I think he's for real. Injury ruined his junior season. Mature and excellent defender. Better athlete than given credit for. The tweener forward thing is no longer the big negative in today's small-ball NBA. He's like the Malcolm Brogdon of forwards (I was a huge Brogdon fan when he was at UVA. Same with Bates-Diop at Ohio State).

Pretty sure he's mocked at the end of the first in all the latest ones I've seen.

I don't like the big jump he's made, but he has to look of an NBA SF to me.

He's not even listed in the 2nd round in any of the 4 mocks I've looked at: nbadraft.net, hoopshype.com, walterfootball.com, and tankathon.com. What are the mocks you speek of?

Edit - just checked CBS Sports - updated 1/9/18 and Sports Illustrated - updated 1/2/18, and neither have him mentioned.

We just did a draft for the GMAT, so I looked at like 50 mocks lol so some were really random.
I feel like draftnet and walterfootball seem really slow for updating guys. Tankathon is usually solid tho which kind of surprises me.

Don't know if they come out but I think we've talked a bit about Dan Gafford and Donta Hall, both guys with seemingly good tools. I don't think anybody in our range is likely to be bouncier at their size than Robinson. Not really up on mocks but Nick Richards would have to be mentioned if he's in our range.

I see Bleacher Report says he's a newcomer to their draft - I assume that means they didn't have him at all until their last update.

GMAT as in the test?

Personally, even with our struggles with bigs, I'm not drafting one who can't shoot unless there's something really extraordinary about him. There's a deep reservoir of get-by bigs in this league, we just have to dip into it.

If we can trade up for Wendell Carter or Jaren Jackson, that's a different story.

Good call on Gafford. I gotta study up on Hall - don't know anything about him.

Wouldn't mind a scrap heap pickup to fill the other big guy role and then use the 1st on a wing. Of course be a backup initially but if it goes well to develop as a replacement for Khris or Snell down the line. Can never have enough good wings.

Ray Spalding's going to get a lot of Jordan Hill-related love if he declares.

Lol, the kid's "listed weight" is 250 lb and there's about a zero percent chance that is even remotely accurate.
