I saw that.

Ouch.

We drafted him and gave him away for nothing. Maybe he is still bitter?

But damn...the truth kinda hurts doesn't it. :(

If you look at the bulletin at the top of the forum, there's a rondo article where he addresses isaiah thomas's tribute video from the Celtics.

Rajon Rondo was asked to give his opinion on Boston rescheduling the video tribute to Isaiah Thomas that was initially planned for the same night as Paul Pierce's jersey retirement.

"What has he done?” Rondo asked reporters about Thomas.

Reporters than told Rondo about Thomas leading the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals.

“Oh, that’s what we celebrate around here?”

Rondo then continued.

"This is the Boston Celtics. This isn’t the Phoenix Suns, no disrespect to any other organization, but you don’t hang conference titles. Do we hang going to the conference finals? What do we hang here?” Rondo continued.

A reporter then replied with the obvious answer to his question, Rondo decided to shut down any further analysis with a simple, "OK, cool."

i saw this today

Rajon is just a very bitter delusional player who could probably name every team that passed on him in the draft, dont take it personally. There are plenty of worse organizations, our included.

Yeah, pretty stupid thing to say for a soon to be FA trying to stay in the league. I can see the Suns having interest in a vet PG in the off-season but you can almost certainly add them to the list of teams that will want nothing to do with him(if they weren't already).

It’s ironic, for the best thing to happen to him was us drafting and trading him to a team that was able to get playing time that he would have never gotten behind Nash. Then there was the whole NBA wanting a Boston/LA finals thing.

I have no problem with this.

Devin Booker says if Boston doesn't want him to score 70 points they should play some defense.

If we want to be respected we need to win a championship (at least once in 60 years).

Exactly. Longest running nba team without a title.

it was low of Rondo to say that, but I understand what he meant... but he was a jerk/a$$hole about it.

Basically, Celtics have championship banners, championship heritage.... why are they celebrating Thomas's return?... who wasn't really a long time celtic player.... (we all know Ainge is doing it because he feels bad and Thomas was a fan favorite)

He mentions the Suns, out of the blue because maybe due to the McD connection, like its the first team that came to mind or maybe Suns almost traded for him but backed out so its fresh in his minds, what ever the reason was, but the point was he was just mentioning the Suns because the Suns do not have anything to HANG on the banners or have any championship heritage... hence the Ring of Honor is currently the Suns most prolific non-season related event....

To me... it should motivate the Suns to try harder and WIN their first ring ever.... 50 years and no ring...

Do their best to field a contender as soon as possible, preferrably whilst Rondo is the NBA so Suns can rub it on his face....

I've got no issue with Rondo's comment and I agree with his general sentiment regarding the whole IT situation. No need to take offense here.

I'm with Blonde. I took no offense from it. He could've named a number of other teams but he thought of us at that moment and that's that. I don't think he was "ready" for that question and did research on us because he hates us or anything. And honestly to think that he was thinking all the way back to McD's Boston days or something, it's ridiculous. This is classic mountain building from molehill material

Get over it guys, we suck right now and if we didn't he probably wouldn't have us as his first thought.

Probably not many, if any. I mean it would have to be a team that got to a finals or two or more and never won a championship. How many teams are those. Maybe the Magic.
