Very high likelihood that I will stop regularly watching this team if we go this route.

The problem with Kemba is that he's good enough to single handedly destroy the value of a 2018 pick coming our way, so we likely would need a three team trade netting us a pick from a team that isn't getting Kemba (BRK) for it to make sense.

Yep, I like the NYK package the most. Wouldn't mind the Cavs package mentioned earlier that gets us out of Batum's contract either. Best case though is full rebuild and just stockpile picks like Boston did, though Brooklyn is the reason why it'll be hard to do a 2nd time.

Worth pointing out that Woj (to my knowledge) has never scooped a CHA trade unless it was being announced. He has, though, been used a few times to announce team intentions to make players available in advance of moves. Thus, I think serious reasons to assume this announcement was strategic by the Hornets FO.

“I'd hate to see him go and I greatly appreciate all he's done for this team and city, his passion can't be questioned. But he deserves better, and honestly we AS FANS deserve better. People keep saying "this would be awful for the fans" is winning 35 games per year not already pretty damn bad? So fans are really okay with just being mediocre as long as we have one all star player to watch? I can lose 15 more games a year if it means we just have the outside chance of building something that's even close to what the Sixers currently have. Winning 35 games a year is just as painful for me as winning 20 games. Hell I'd argue it's more painful, at least when you're a 20 win team you have something to look forward to in the draft.”

Trading his contract was me more adding that in there with letting him go as well as a few others combined... I have not been on the kemba train for a few years for some reason. I think the year of us resigning him was when I decided that it was best to consider looking elsewhere. With todays NBA we wont have a chance if we keep average or slightly above on our roster. We need to develop players faster and be willing to trade away faster if not there rather than get too attached like we have been for a while now.

Like I said it's basically just a swap and you're betting on Fultz getting to Kemba's level. It would put us in the exact same position we are in now 2 years from now.

We give up Kemba, Howard, and Lamb to get the Brooklyn pick and tank out our season

Cleveland gets Howard, Middleton, and Lamb. All three of them are great fits against Golden State and should make them match up better.

Milwaukee gives up Middleton and takes on Tristan Thompson's contract to get Kemba. I really like the idea of a Kemba-Bledsoe-Giannis-Jabari lineup. Just need a rim protector and shooters off the bench
