Since when have all crimes being investigated and the manner in which they were/are investigated required to be divulged to the public before or during the investigation itself? That type of action seems to me like it would compromise a LOT of investigations.
To be honest, I actually think both sides need to cool it with the finger pointing overall, but beyond that, I also think that, based on the evidence we do have, there is an awful lot of smoke surrounding Trump, and while there may or may not be/have been a fire, anyone who denies that smoke either has their head in the sand or is being intentionally disingenuous or both. I mean, Trump would have shut down a LOT of the speculation (it would have been there still, just much more limited in scope), had he released his tax returns. At this point, that's probably impossible because it's hard to believe they aren't somehow tied up in this investigation.
To be honest, I also think the evidence we have suggests whatever the crime that is being investigated, regardless of whether or not it happened, isn't specifically linked to the campaign directly but something much larger than that, that just happened to have a campaign ongoing for parts of it. None of those charged thus far have been charged with anything campaign specific. The campaign may have been involved, but it sure looks like the campaign more would have been yet another party, so to speak, rather than the actual issue. If I had to guess, I'd guess money laundering, but I certainly don't have any evidence of that and wouldn't be surprised to find out I'm wrong.
But to my point of cooling it. Really, if Trump and his team were really clean through all this, the investigation will show that. Sure, there are biases with everyone, but Mueller in particular seems about as sharp as they come and he's picked a rather astute team. I very much don't doubt them and am at least willing to see what they do before forming an opinion. As things come forward, it's absolutely worthwhile discussing. I think it's far too early to proclaim Trump's guild or innocence at this point, though I do think it's early enough to suggest something suspicious did happen, whatever that may have been and whether or not it was actually illegal or can be proven.
