obviously fultz was a pick and roll maestro in college but he never had a big like embiid or a running mate like ben simmons. this team is going to be fun to watch very soon

Forcing a guy to try and perform at his highest level without a key skill should not even be thought of even with playoffs being the measurement of this year's success. Let the kid sit and figure this out without any pressure - it's time for BC to speak up and stop these guessing games.

Kolkmania wrote: Regarding the qSI value, I tried to look for the definition and the only information ESPN gives is this trivial explanation. So it's basically eFG - qSO, but we don't know how qSO is exactly calculated and the weighting of the criteria mentioned. So another "hidden" stat by ESPN. The way I'm interpreting it, it seems that the conclusion from Forsberg is wrong. Tatum's eFG is 15.4% higher than the average NBA player who takes those shots, since eFG% and 3PT% aren't 1-on-1 related, the conclusion that he shoots 3 pointers 15.4% better is incorrect.
I don't have time to look up how it's calculated now but my guess is that it's a pretty simple Synergy-type thing: computer gets together a big dataset of different situations for every player (e.g. situations when you're wide open from the corners, when you're heavily covered from the elbows, when there's a closing defender from the top of the key, etc) and then ranks each one relative to the average. It might be more complicated than that but that would seem sufficient, and simple and useful enough.
And the conclusion that Tatum is 15% better than average doesn't seem weird at all, given that he's doing a lot of his damage from the perimeter and has always been a good shooter while guarded. (He's also been crazy efficient this year in a way that I'm not convinced is sustainable).

Guys use the other thread to talk about Tatum/the trade. It literally says it in the thread title.

My bad, misread the title. Saw the 2017 draft and trade in the title and automatically assumed this was the right thread.

why is fultz retweeting old posts? he just have to shoot with a normal form in practice, convince BB he can play, and show the world how wrong everybody is on him. doesnt help a bit to think about the good ole time

Haha yea, I guess the positive spin would be that this is Fultz way of saying don't worry i'll be back to shooting great soon. The negative reading, is that Fultz is **** and just wishing for the old glory days when he could shoot a basketball lol.

Anyone see the "Fultz Value" thread on the trade board where someone claims there is a rumor going around that Markelle's shoulder got hurt in a BMX biking accident? I've never heard anything like this suggested before but it would explain the ambiguity at the beginning of this whole situation. Anyway has anyone ever heard this anywhere else?

Jason Concepcion wildly speculated about that in a ringer article last week? (This week? Hard to keep all the ringer articles making fun of Fultz straight) I don't think it was based on anything.

If Fultz got hurt in a BMX accident, maybe the accident happened because he forgot how to hold the handle bars.
I'll be here all week.

There is no evidence of the BMX thing other than him saying it was a hobby of his during one of those lame pre draft interviews. Either way pretty sure we're past the point of why and firmly in the Ok let's fix it territory.

Does it? It looks to me like he doesn't/didn't use his lower body enough.
Edit: Never mind, I had only watched the stationary shots, which don't look right. I agree that the jumper looks a lot better.

Fultz has never really struck me as a good practice player, which is why I always take all these practice videos with a grain of salt. Looked to me he was just coasting, not playing hard at all. No idea why he would post this though.

He looks like he's coasting all the time! He's a sleepy looking player. It works very well for him though.

Sixer team physician reported it to be a joint imbalance between his thumb and fingers. He didn't suddenly forget how to hold the handle bars, he's been doing it since he was a kid.

Very true, but he definitely looks to just be jogging in those videos, some just jump higher in games. Its just practice man, although its all we have to go on, its still just pratice. I still have no idea why he would repost them though.

it looks to me like those video clips are conditioning drills, where he has to run the length of the court and shoot jumpers until he makes several in a row at both ends repeatedly that's why he's winded. the cameras probably caught the tale end of the training session

Do you think Fultz for Walker is on the table?
