Ian might have the worst hands of any Wizards big man in the last 20 years, including Jahidi White.

Kwame.

Yep and somehow that was Gils fault. Ruffin and Etan was not much better.

Kwame had small hands. He couldn't palm a basketball.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Ian was hurt most of last year, so there wasn't an opportunity to experience how sucky he is.

Long time since Jahidi White crossed my mind.

Ian has for real been my favorite part of this Wiz season. His exploits are hilarious. If you go to a game just keep your eyes on him for a few minutes straight when he's on the floor. Always results in at least a few guffaws or head slaps. Seems like a good guy.

I'm still old enough to remember people arguing Mahinimi should be given postups to get him 'engaged' in the offense.

Great way to light a possession on fire.

My hypothesis is that we were waiting for a new and stronger word for "sucky" to work its way into the modern lexicon given that "sucky" doesn't begin to accurately describe the "yalp" that Ian does each night on a basketball court.

We get Gortat plenty involved by running a lot of our plays through him, with Gortat setting the screen and rolling. We can't even do that with Mahimni without fear of an illegal pick! Sad!

Yup.

This thread needed to happen.

Mahinmi is a dinosaur. The league has passed him by. Centers with zero offensive skills are now unplayable. If you're going up against the Wizards, and you see Mahinmi as the center in the second unit, why not just go small? It's not like Mahinmi can make you pay for it by posting up whatever small forward you use to guard him.

The same thing is happening to Biyombo. Both those guys had a role in this league 5 years ago. Not anymore.
