Maybe his biceps got so big that it interferes with his fore arm when shooting, that leads him to change his mechanics. I experience the same thing, that i promise you.

Fultz is definitely more defined than he once was, guess he laid off the Chick-fil-A.
When he first got here he looked like he hadn't really ever lifted weights at all.

Slowly but surely, Markelle Fultz is regaining his mojo.
The Philadelphia 76ers guard still "isn't whole right now," according to his coach, but he's inching closer to his return to action, which won't happen until he builds up his shooting confidence.
"We're trying to continue to move him forward - in spirit and in his game," Brett Brown told ESPN's Jeff Goodman. "We're trying to get him more comfortable with his rise-up jump shot and free throw. The 3-point shot isn't necessarily on my mind. We need to let him feel good about himself again, and I think some of it is with the fluidness of his shot."
Related: Brown has 'never experienced anything' like Fultz's shooting woes
The No. 1 pick hasn't played since Oct. 23 due to a shoulder injury, which healed more than a month ago. The eighth-place Sixers are keeping him out until he "is able to shoot a basketball."
Fultz, 19, averaged six points on 33.3 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent from the charity stripe over four games, during which he didn't attempt a single 3-pointer.
There's still no timeline for his return and Brown can't offer an estimate since the hurdle is now mental rather than physical.
"It's all connected," Brown said. "You can't go from one place and end up here without the physical side of it being real. ... He's getting better."

I said when he first got here, meaning right after he was drafted.
Obviously that has changed now, a good thing.

On the FT’s, you could be on to something. But he was knocking down 3’s with ease in SL. And not corner 3’s, either, but top of the key 3’s.
Has to have been some kind of injury, right?
Or a fatigue illness like glandular fever, which would cause wasting from the amount of sleep required. (Have not heard any suggestion anywhere but the recovery timeframe for glandular is anywhere from 1 month to 6 months to a year, and screws with the whole body. Just a left field guess.)

he should slow down with the weight lifting. why the hell a guard needs big muscles like that? iverson got it back in the days on weight-lifting: "**** is too heavy"

Yeah there is that pic, I just knew it was an old pic, didn't know exactly when it was taken.
There is a big difference in this body, not question about that. In that pic on this page below.

Edit: Just noticed its the same pic lol.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III: For Fultz and going forward (see 2017 draft thread for trade discussion)
Hmm, this still looks uglier and more labored than his release in college, still sort of pushed out from his body rather than flowing nicely from legs to shoulders and up. He always had a little bit of a kink that kept his shot from seeming totally pure, but his college form looked more like a slightly hitched natural stroke than that, which looks like he's putting the ball on a hand-platter before shooting it.
Here's the first example that comes to mind, check the 2:55 mark and especially the 3:20 and 4:25 one (since they're off the dribble) for a shot that's one single motion with just a little bit of discontinuity.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III: For Fultz and going forward (see 2017 draft thread for trade discussion)
his new form is better imo. his arm is at a 90 degree angle and he jumps straight up, its more compact which i think is better. at uw he would cock his shooting arm further over his head so his shot was slower, he had a habit of leaning back in the air while cocking his arm over his head too which could make his shot inconsistent at the next level. too many moving parts imo
im glad he switched to a semi-one motion form and remember its still a work in progress

I'm not feeling one way or the other about that one shot, but it's better than what it looked like when he was injured. He also doesn't really follow through, which isn't great. In the video above, he's following through on all shots. Like I said, maybe it's a one time thing.
